Basically, that is very impressive. 64-69? did you see the Aussie player Rod Laver knocking around the dressing rooms? He won a few grand slams - think he won the US oen year, certainly won Wimbledon and the Oz open a few times. Boy do i remember some good matches between Laver and Emerson, they were classics. Unfortunately they wouldn't let me in the men's dressing rooms. [:)] Shame you couldn't just barge your way in and introduce yourself :-). 80s was my time. John McEnroe is a legend here (although apparently not a class act when it comes to treating women in the right fashion). A couple of Wimbledon's ago, all the living ex-winners were paraded and McEnroe was easily given the biggest ovation - even bigger than British winner Virginia Wade. There's something about McEnroe that people warm to - same with Jimmy Connors. Tennis was so much better in the 80s as there were some real characters playing - from the 90s onwards they became like machines with the likes of Lendl, Sampras, Stich, Krajcek etc.......... anyway, a British winner in the next millenium would be good :-)
