lilsubmiss27 -> An email I just got.. (3/1/2005 9:03:25 AM)

I joined this website on the 25th, since some friends of mine said the message boards were good and I might meet some great *friends*. I set up my profile, which has yet to be approved.. heck, I don't even have a pic up.. so why did I receive an email from a woman telling me to meet her at her hotel today, at 1:30.. on the 7th floor??

Lol, is this normal?? I was a member of Bondage.com for quite a while (still am, actually) and I never received any emails like that. Now, I am not inexperienced at all.. but I find it hard to believe that a person would actually agree to the meeting.. but then, I guess they might or she wouldn't have asked me to meet? lol.. who knows!

Yes, welcome to the internet, where folks are so determined to pretend that their fantasies are real.

Anyway, my advice? Tell her you were there! And that you had a marvy time! And that you hope you can get together again soon. It's all the same for fantasy folks!

I'm afraid that in as lovely a place as this is there is a bit of "screwy" to go with the good you'll find. This is only the beginning.

A friend of mine got one of those before her profile was approved too. I agree, write back, tell her she was fantastic, but the thing with the garden hose and pudding cups is on your hard limit list. *LOL*

Heh.. people are nuts. I've been here only briefly myself and so far I've been commanded to service a "Dommes" not so clean derrierre... really a most vulgar message.

Also, I've recieved an enormous amount of mail from men (my profile very clearly states that we are lesbian) including one psychotic rant from a "Dom" who felt that our exclusion of men is doing "our fellow lesbians" damage politically @!?*&% Our friends enjoyed the comedic value of this message, but really, it's a waste of time.

All I can guess is that there are some very troubled people behind these screens, people often feel entitled to say things online that they never would have the nerve to say in real life.

The best advice I can offer is to hit the block sender button, or, as LadyShoshin suggested, play along..lol.[8D]

Sounds like the lobby of the Marriott Marquis - Times Square NYC? I can think of worse ways of spending a snowy Tuesday in NYC. Get a seat by the window, order a nice Armagnac at the bar and watch the people below struggle through the snow. If she shows, who knows? If she doesn't still a nice way to pass the time, and imagine an adventure. The Marriott is a great neutral place to meet people, the size and public access make it safe too.

Maybe because the last solo meeting of this type that I've been on occurred 2 years ago today, but I'm recalling some of these type adventures that I had with fond nostalgia. When someone I took an interest in agreed to meet me, I met them as soon as possible. Going to the meeting, I expected nothing and planned for the worse. I never left a first meeting disappointed or sad regardless of the outcome. I had fun, even if it was just with the bartender or seeing the local sites afterward if I was stood up. I hope to never have to do it again, but the journey can be just as much fun as the destination if you let it.
