As a nanny, pro-domme, and a lifestyle domme, I have found that discipline or punishment works best when it is three things. 1. A Known Consequence - Subject knows if they do x, y will happen. 2. Immediate - Subject knows that if they do x, y will happen immediately. 3. Relative to Corollary to Wrongful Action - Minor Infraction = Minor Punishment - Major Infraction = Major Punishment. A person can not be punished for something they've done wrong unless they know what they are doing is wrong. Number 2 is the place many of our parents went wrong with "Wait until your father gets home!!!" That just meant we'd do more bad things and more often than not our mom, nanny, babysitter, auntie, whomever forgot to tell on us. My methods do change with adults and unmentionables but there is a consistancy with each. In most cases, there is often a time out period, followed by a short discussion, a resolution, and a mutually agreed upon punishment should it happen again. The time out period happens on the naughty step for unmentionables. Naughty step is the top or bottom stair depending on where we are in the house. For my adults who need discipline they get their own place in the house for their time outs.
