PIN NUMBER REVERSAL (GOOD TO KNOW)

If you should ever be forced by a robber to withdraw money from
an ATM machine, you can notify the police by entering your Pin # in
reverse.

For example if your pin number is 234 then you would put in 4321. The
ATM recognizes that your pin number is backwards from the ATM card you
placed in the machine.
The machine will still give you the money you requested, but unknown to the robber, the police will be immediately dispatched to help you.

This information was recently broadcasted on TV and it states that
it  is seldom used because people don't know it exists.

Please pass this along to everyone possible.

The reverse of 234 is 4321? How curious [:D]

Yeah, but if you don't pass along the OP's message to 25 people in the next 6 minutes, you'll have bad luck for 73 years.

What are we, in high school?

Yours,

benji

Nope; it doesn't work like that.  I work for a credit card processor; you put in a wrong PIN and you just get declined.

I am in the Private Security business and what such a thing ahs been suggested it ias not actually been put in to effect to my knowledge. although they are trying to come up with not just that but something with additional protections for the patrons of ATMs

WyrdRich -> RE: Reversed PIN (1/20/2007 2:26:04 PM)

No need to check links to know this is crap.  My PIN is the same backwards or forwards.  The cops haven't showed up once.

And if you shoot the robbers with a .40 cal. Glock that your lisensed to carry you won't need the police.
Just pickup the shell casings that were ejected and take off.

Hmm and that would make you of far higher standing than the robber - NOT!!

People were forwarding crap like this to my email, presumably thinking that I actually gave a shit.  I mass mailed a message telling them all to take me off their stupidity lists...  Only to be confronted by it here.  *sigh*

lol

Gotta love Snopes.com.  They are your friend.

Of course, since the ATM has recorded a camera of you shooting a person, along with your pin number time stamped, the police might come to the conclusion that you murdered somebody and then fled the scene of the crime.

Good call, popeye1250.

I posted it because the person I got it from SHOULD have known better.  LOL  I got it in my regular e-mail and then sent it out to a bunch of friends.  The hilarious part was that when I checked my e-mail just a few minutes later, I had 2 responses which included that snopes link.  I e-mailed the original sender and told her and can't wait to see her response!
