I didn't find it mindless dribble. I don't agree with quite a bit of what he had to say, but that's another matter.

I would really love to hear a cogent analysis of which part of his speech was not mindless drivel, but every time I have asked you to clarify your point you have failed to respond.

If it works for you, I say go for it.

I will read the text of his speech tomorrow.  If I watch him,
it will ruin the whole evening.  Mostly I am interested in
how Congress will react to his new plan to send an
additional 20,000 troops to Iraq.

ohh ... how many times have you asked her to clarify a point in this thread?

Why would you love to be told about something which you freely admit that you went out of your way to be completely ignorant of. And what was that you were saying about "mindless dribble" a little earlier...

I have asked her to clarify her position in a lot of threads.

Try to keep up.

I thought making mention of balancing the budget of some importance.

A five-fold increase in research on alternative fuels is certainly a good start.

I don't happen to agree with the entire No Child Left Behind plan ... but there are certainly a lot of intelligent people that do.

I thought his emphasis on not failing in Iraq and giving the new plan a chance, was reasonable.

Then again ... this is all probably pointless typing on my part.

I was asked by Moderator 11 to cease and desist my personal attacks.

So I am done here.

Enjoy your evening,

Okay... so yet another expert on the President of the United States finally shares with us the source of all her wisdom, then.

As usual, it's LITERALLY complete willful ignorance.

He got a lot of applause from the Dims - they must love it.

I see that the Bush-bashers haven't had anything to say about Hillary being the front runner for their nomination. That says a lot. They are handing the Republicans the next Presidency on a sliver platter... while trying to suggest that the President is dumb.

michaelOfGeorgia -> RE: State of the Union (1/23/2007 8:21:52 PM)

imagine my surprise when i switched over to one of the local channels to watch the Lottery drawing for tonight, only to find yet another long winded president wasting airtime to ramble on about whatever...i immediately switched off of it...you hear one president, you've heard them all

You might want to wait until we all see who is actually nominated before calling that race, unless you moonlight as Carnac the Magnificent.

What does the previous line have to do with this?  The two are hardly mutually exclusive.

You claim that you don't go to munches because you can't afford cab fare home but you'll flush money down the toilet by playing the lottery?  You never cease to amaze me Michael.

I am so sorry, but Moderator Eleven wouldn't like any reply I might craft regarding that sort of logic, so I'm simply going to say, YOU GO GIRL, and then I'm going to hit the sack.

'Night all.

Well, c'mon now, ~stef, it is a sure thing and reinforces a defeatist attitude.
