I THINK OF YOU
As I sit here looking at my life,
I know I am No body’s lover and No body’s wife.
As I walk alone like a ghost in my house,
I hate being No body’s special one, No body’s spouse.
I never believed I would still be alone.
This emptiness is worse than I have ever known.
But I thank God for friends who help see me through.
They help guide my steps in all that I do.
I look around at the people I meet,
Still looking for the One who wants me at His feet.
I know He is out there, so I travel around.
I refuse to give up. This WON’T keep me down.
Oh yes, there are times when I sit here and cry.
There are times when I can’t keep the tears from my eyes.
I go to my job. I do daily things,
Knowing I can’t control what the future might bring.
But I still carry hope deep within my heart.
I still think there is something that keeps us apart.
I believe there is One who will one day take my hand,
Hold me to His heart, and help me to stand.
He will know all the love that I have to give.
He will one day know that he is the reason I live.
For now it is true I am not much in some people’s eyes,
But let me tell you, I hold a surprise.
I am alive, and breathing and living.
I have a heart that longs to be giving.
So as I search, I give to you, My friends,
A loving heart, with devotion, that will not end.
When I am lonely, I think of you.
I know I will be fine and my one-day my dreams will come true.
So if you are out there, feeling alone and lost too.
Just think of me as I am thinking of you.
You may only know me by a name on a screen.
I may be the one who lives in your dreams.
You may know me in person; from the meetings I attend.
Some may even like me and call me a friend.
I know you are out there. I smile knowing its true.
I know I’m not really alone, because I think of you.
