Interestingly enough for me, I know that the Owner loves me, and that he absolutely COULD and WOULD do "something bad" to me. One does not eliminate the other. If you know nothing bad will happen, then it's not an exercise of trust at all, it's just doing whatever it is that they want done. I don't obey the Owner because I trust that nothing bad will happen, I obey because I am property and I gave up the right to do anything else. I believe being owned is a state of being, but it is also a process. I do learn deeper trust in myself and my relationship to the Owner as time goes on. However, my trust in HIM is absolute. However, we don't demonstrate that by artificial tests, but by daily troubles and hardships and this harsh thing called life. For me it tends to be a black and white issue. If I didn't trust him utterly, I wouldn't be his property. The fact that I am his property states the case more than enough and no other "tests" will improve upon that in my eyes. I see those "tests" being used more as ways for subs to "outsub" eachother and artificial means to puff people's egos. Trust unfortunately is a reactive thing, we take leaps and, depending on the result, we progress or move back. Trust to me is demonstrated more by who we are long term, rather than short term extreme acts.
