There is something creepy and eerie about being in a filthy old room.  The devices and furniture made out of old railroad ties, and crappy busted up pieces of furniture that was garbage picked.  There would be spider webs and a dirty cold cement floor, rusty chains, broken windows and the feeling of my skin crawling, not wanting to touch any part of it, sit down anywhere or lay my body any place, but having to do it anyway.

One of my favorite chapters in 9 + 1/2 Weeks, was her description of the cheap motel room with a dead roach in the bathroom!

gack!!

Ok, look, I know its all fantasy, but for those of you into the "hidden room behind the revolving bookcase" all I can think of is:

"PUT THE CANDLE BACK!"

If you don't know, I can't help you now.

"It's the same thing," he said.

A dungeon proper should definitely have stone walls and a lot of iron fixtures, rusty chains, etc., medieval. I love walking through scrapyards and getting all sorts of ideas - one thing to look for are wrought iron dining room chairs, there's a lot of stuff you can do with just a chair.

Basements are ok by me but a loft or attick with large beams for attaching things to and skylights to let light in and heat out in summer would be nice too.
I'd want it to be very functional with padded tables, hooks imbedded into the beams and walls and plenty of other bondage equipment.

. . . There are only a few pics on the [Galleria Domain 2] site, but you can get an idea of what half the place looks like. . .

Unfortunately, the photos paint only a partial picture of Galleria Domain 2 and actually show substantially less than half of the club.  Since the photos on the website were taken, the decor of two of the rooms has been updated, numerous pieces of furniture and equipment have been added, and two additional rooms have been added as well.

. . . Unfortunately only members are allowed, so visiting from out-of-town is a bit difficult. . . . When I was in SF I had no trouble visiting The Citadel (a beautiful space BTW) - my friend simply called and put my name on the guest list in advance. . .

Galleria Domain 2 is a membership-only club, but it also is easily accessible to visitors via a trial membership.  All it takes is submitting an application for a trial membership, which lasts for 21 consecutive days/three consecutive weekends, by the Wednesday before one plans to attend.  In addition, the membership structure permits members to bring guests to the club without any advance notice.

. . . It's a real shortcoming of the Chicago area that the local clubs can be so hard to access. . .

Because Chicago area BDSM clubs are membership-only, they are more difficult to access than some clubs in some other places (although, as noted above, it's not all that difficult).  About 5 years ago, both Galleria Domain and the Leather Rose were shut down and fined by the City of Chicago, which resulted in clubs becoming membership-only in order to comply with a variety of city and county ordinances and state and federal law. There is a positive result of them being membership-only, though:  they permit kinds of play that typically are prohibited at clubs in most other areas of the U.S. <wink wink nudge nudge>

If anyone would like additional information about BDSM goings on in the Chicago area, I'd be happy to forward you additional information about Chicago's BDSM clubs, fetish nights, munches, etc.

Best regards,

Wilson

Cathedral room with Cross
My answer would be a small cathedral style room, stained glass windows,
complete with a "large ornate wooden cross" as the centerpiece. A rack with
Floggers, whips, chains, ropes, sword.. other items.  A Bose stereo system.
A 3 tiered flowing water fountain, plus other optional things.

Hello. =)

My ideal fantasy "dungeon" is a log cabin on a mountain, isolated from civilization. Nothing too fancy in the way of equipment or furniture. Maybe a dog kennel in the back. And a fireplace. =) I'm a simple gal... just me, my cruel warden, and whatever he can use from his imagination, lol.

We do have a great creepy old basement we plan on gradually converting to a play area this year. It still has the old coal celler that needs cleaned out. The ceiling is low enough to attach loops in the wooden beams so I can be hung there. Hell, it's practically a dungeon just as it is, lol.

Cheers,
Stella

I would like to have a very simple cold, sterile, environment.  Putting away all of the "home sweet home" comforts.  Almost like a ritualistic sacred sacrificial space, but definitely a place set apart from anywhere else.

All of the wonderful tools would be aligned and organized on the walls and just the bare necessity table, bench and cage.  I will say I am becoming more and more intrigued with the idea of a "whipping post" instead of a St. Andrew's Cross...so, most probably would be on the list.

But for me, simple and effective works.  The fantasy and reality are found within U/us.

It would have to have a hidden remote controled winch up in the ceiling. Useful in suspension scenes occasionally. Used for a lacing bar daily ;-)

This sounds similar to what I would like, I also would love a secret or special door that
you could not open unless you knew how.
Like in the James Bond movies, you know the secret room, with the secret sliding door?
You probably would need to move a picture and open it with the password of secret knocks.

I envision a fairly large space, at least 600 sq ft, temperature controlled.  The focal point would be a large, sturdy table/altar with flush mounted tie-downs every 15 inches all the way around and a cage beneath.

It wouldn't be elegant.  My tastes and budget lend themselves more to converting/perverting well built items from garage sales and such.  The components of a wooden futon frame are incredibly versatile and will run you maybe $20.
