The only "slightly" funky-shaped guitar I ever dug to any great extent was the Parker-Fly.  I think that guys think they look alot cooler than they actually do while playing those weird-looking atrocities.  This dude did a pretty nice job, though- he managed to pull it off and sound pretty good without looking like a douchebage (but, then again, I didn't watch it all the way through)  I've seen a few cool  LTD's out there, but the "Flying V" doesn't work for me.
