I've heard rumor's for a few years now about doing such a refund.  It is good to see they have finally made it final so to speak.
Now we need the refund on our home phones.  Those taxes we've been paying since I cannot remember when.It was something about they put them there for some war effort?
Perhaps WW2?  Not positive but I know it amounts to quite a bit of money for all of us who use phones.

the Federal Excise Tax — actually originates from the Spanish-American War some 107 years ago:

This tax, imposed by President William McKinley in 1898 to help fund the Spanish American War, was originally a luxury tax, at a time when only wealthy Americans had phones. The war lasted only four months, but the “Tax on Talk” is still around more than 100 years later. Today, every person who makes a phone call pays 3% on every monthly phone bill for this outdated tax.
