If anyone listened to Al Franken's dull, monotonous, boring voice, you would know why Air America failed.

I can't even begin to imagine what he'll do to CASPIAN if he get elected to Congress[8D]

On the other hand, I'm gonna miss Mike Malloy, I became a fan of his while he was a host at WLS in Chitown, and when he finally went to overnights on AA, his no holds barred, aneurysm producing rants, were down right hysterical.

Sold! Price $4.25 Million. Over $20 Million in debt.

They ran it like a social program, based upon "good intentions", and generated the same result - Bankruptcy.

Wouldn't it be hilarious if the new owners put conservatives and libertarians on and the thing becomes a success???

Watching GOLF on t.v. would be more interesting than listening to Al Franken.

It probably would be a success because people don't want the truth and honest analysis, they want to hear what makes them comfortable which is why conservative broadcasters always give a mix of fear and then an antidote of patriotic apple pie to sooth people's fears they have built up and distract them from the activities of the people who made them fearful in the first place. This tabloid tactic is over used and obvious I'm beginning to think the majority of people are wilfully ignorant as long as their little comfort zone remains intact.

Left-wing broadcasters have a particular dull, angry, pessimistic attitude that doesnt come off sounding that well on the radio. While guys like Limbaugh sounds humerous and optimistic even during his rants.

It isnt what you say, it is how you say it.

I have to admit I prefer my information wholemeal rather than served up as entertainment. Though I wouldn't call leftwing dull and pessimistic, I would on the whole say it is realistic when you look at the state of the world. The aim of rightwing broadcasting appears to be there to distract people from the fact the world is in chaos. Tell the people what they want to hear, keep them snug in their comfort zone and it is marvelous for the rich who own the media because they make money from keeping people in a somnambulant state while they are basically exploited. But hey! If they are happy, what's the problem.

1) Those of us who are doctrinaire Leftists simply don't like Democrats.

2) In some of the major cities, they were competing against Pacifica, which is a MUCH, much better service.

Sincerely,
Kevin
