A friend in Germany sent me the pic, and she said the clamp was home made. It apears to be brass, or a brass alloy and is probably not magnetic. I've made a few with aluminum brackets, but I do like the brass color and will find a source for the brass stock. Long brass screws and knurled nuts are available at most electrical supply/lighting places, as they are commonly used in outdoor lighting. Common sizes are 6/32, 8/32, and 10/32, but the smaller two are better for this application. Just file the square stock corners to be slightly rounded, and finish a bit of fine sandpaper or a buffer wheel, very easy. Admittedly, using a magnetic metal also has a certain appeal.
