Time for a little rant of my own... As I was being the wonderful profile whore that I am ( lol ) I was browsing some of the profiles of folks I havent spoken too or havent seen in the forums before ( yes I know shame on me for missing noob's ) I came across one in particular that has me just shaking my head ( omg can it be, as if this actually happens... yeah I know.. ) why this one stuck out enough that I'm posting now is this... The journal entries.. this person claims to be involved for several years as a pro submissive, but in the journal a few days ago had their first public scene, ok I guess if you only scene in your basement I could buy this one but using a public place or public dungeon and having the DM's around would constitute in my eyes public play, although in the journals no DM's ever hung around for the scene's... which again struck me as odd because when I have attended public Dungeons there was ALWAYS a DM present and overseeing the activities. Like a dummy I decided ok well maybe on the slide this could have happened, or there could be things going on that is left unawares to the reader so I kept reading... mistake... every journal entry that is supposedly an actual occurance is the SAME, sure the participants names are changed but their wording is all the same, the situations and the happenings are all the same etc... either there are a lot of fellas running around who act, look, talk, and fuck the same or hello its just a fantasy.. I took the mindset of the latter, obviously. Anyhow on to the point... Why post things in your journal on a public BDSM site where there are hundreds of R/T couples and individuals and try to pass your fantasy situation off as if it was a real experience, and why when you're trying to make people believe you have some kind of real experience would you repeatedly use the same fantasy over and over again, eventually folks are going to figure out that its a bunch of crap and you dont know your ass from a hole in the ground... ugh ok LA I know there have to have been others on here who have noted this in posts before, but I was too lazy at the moment to go looking... From y'all's experiences in reading profiles and meeting folks is it really this common to run across folks trying to pass off some fanciful bullshit as an experienced reality? ( ok yes shame on me cause I've run into it a bunch of times but please tell me that someone else has seen this crap too, and meaning in valid profiles not just in forum posts or just in chatting, but blatantly throwing it out there all over the place..... side note I guess ya have to give them credit for consistancy? least they keep with the same lie, but damn what a boring imagination to only be able to want one situation only pffft.... <edited cause those damn trolls were doin the dirty on the keyboard again>

......it seems a bit more common than not, in my experience here. Carefully woven scenarios, but not so carefully woven that they don't unravel. My guess is, like many who lie, your example profile "pro-sub" simply forgot part of the lie told, and thus slipped up. IMO, poseurs and wannabes are like art - you know it when you see it - . Good post. Well written, without slamming anyone.

thanks for the compliment.... ( ok now that I'm sufficiently grinning again lol ) I guess what irked me so much is that I just fail to see the point in trying to pass off lies when it is so obvious to see. ( well ok maybe not obvious to the OP of the lie) We're all adults here, if you have some kind of fantasy guess what? Thats ok, we all do... if you have some desire to share it then please do so, these boards and threads are for everyones usage how they see fit... ( providing you comply with the TOS and Mod 11 that is lol.. sorry 11 I just hadda mention you cause well the majority of folks have had a 11 note in their box a time or few lol ) This probably chewed me the wrong way because of some things I have dealt with recently that have left a rather foul sting behind but over all lies in general serve no purpose to me. Instead of telling lies about experience just say hey I have some fantasies and I'm hoping to have those fulfilled, or even just that you have a certain fantasy that you enjoy telling people, but please folks dont try and pass off fake experiences it really only makes you look shallow and ignorant...

The "why" of it is always subject to interpretation. My own is that such people lack the self-confidence to be themselves, or seek to work a con for their own purposes... ... and they don't seem to have sufficient perspective to realize they may be transparent. A good rant can be cathartic. I know I feel better!

I feel a bit better too, well as far as that rant went, now if I can get rid of the flu I'll be good to go lol... for those of you that have had or do have that raunchy flu thats going around I sooo feel for ya's.

I'll just respond to this though and say that while there may always be DMs on the floor of an event, that doesn't mean that they will be hanging around your scene. When you've got a few thousand square feet blocked off into separate sections and only three DMs on duty, you could go awhile and not see one- specially if you're in a quiet area where there isn't much else giong on. Even a smaller party that has a lot of stations and/or an extreme type scene going on- unless you're that scene, you shouldn't expect a DM to be keeping an eye on your scene. DMs are there in case something happens, and to TRY and prevent bad stuff from happening. But like one teacher to 30 students, there's only so far it will go. As well, at private parties, there will rarely be an assigned DM.

What I see when I read profiles are men behind about 1/2 to 2/3 of them. Some are just wankers, others are TVs. Look at the fantasies, men and women have slightly different takes on slightly different fantasies and I think it shows through. You see the TVs, they are the ones with lots of pictures with frilly feminine dresses but whatever the shot you can't quite see their neck, something is always in the way. Doesn't really matter to me, nobody local to me responds and that is all I really care about anymore.

Jot this down, honey: "Different things appeal to different people." This person you're pissing and moaning about doesn't seem to be hurting anyone. Maybe he or she really does have just one fantasy. In fact maybe their one kink has to do with putting improbable profiles on CM. I'm okay with all of that. I remember girls in school who never seemed to be able to think of anything to do at recess but stand around talking derisively about the other girl who didn't have enough outfits, or enough friends. It was ugly then and it is ugly now. Maybe if you put your own imagination to work it will present you with something better to do than publicly dissecting profiles of people you aren't even interested in, or at least something more interesting to say about them than that you are better than they are, with a little spitty noise at the end. .

Well I personally have seen so much in life that I wouldnt believe if somebody told me about it, that I am now of the opinion that some stuff is indeed stranger than fiction or anything I could imagine. This is a bdsm comment, but life in general, but then as bdsm is subset of life it applies equally.

I suppose this is the question, is she trying to fool the experienced or the horny guy who wants to get his dom on? Now I would bet that she is wanting to offer her services as a pro sub, she is not targetting a more descriminating crowd... she wants cash.

Problem with telling lies is that eventually you forget who you told what. Or worse you involve real folks who find out. A recent poster's supposed owner was really shocked to discover she had dementia.

Noah, Hmmm. Usually I was one to follow your posts because they had some really great content, but damn did someone piss in your cheerios? You attack me like I have somewhere said I am the end all know all BDSM expert, something I have never said. I gave two examples because that is all I needed for the point I was making, which you obviously missed in your little rant against me. I never said that the kink this person had was lame, hell I never even said what their kink was, merely that it repeated over and again which to ME is lack of imagination. The point was why lie to other people and I even went further to say that the reason this particular profile bothered me was because of my own personal experiences. As far as liars not hurting anyone, that to ME is a bunch of bull because what happens to the people who believe this liar and get hurt because of the inexperience of this person? I guess that doesnt count?

LA, Thanks for the info. It has just been my experience that with individual scenes at the public dungeon that the DM has stayed around to make sure the safety of the two ( or more) players were ok, I do know that with multiple scenes at a play party it is impossible for them to watch everyone 100% of the time. What left me thinking huh about the stories in this persons journal was that the Dm accepted money for the scene taking place then always left, I would really hope that never happens with my local group as I just dont see that being a very good idea...
