Sanity -> Hillary Defends Vote For Iraq Liberation (1/31/2007 5:02:03 PM)

What fun!!! Hypocrasy is alive and well in Washington. The Liberals are on track to nominate a pro-war Presidential candidate... won't that be interesting.

The Clintoons said for years and years and years that Saddam Hussein was a huge threat to the entire world, and Hillary not only voted to remove him but she gave endless speeches about how dangerous a man he was. Now of course the winds have shifted, everyone has forgotten that 2/3ds of all Dims voted to support the President when helping the people of Iraq was a popular idea. But now? What a joke. NOW they insist that the President lied, only because Dimocrats (led by Frank Church and Jimmy Carter) completely neutered the CIA in the 1970s and we had some bad intelligence data, which the rest of the world also believed.

But the President lied, they say...

Sure he did. When his name was Bill Clintoon!!!

Don't have time to really respond to this post the way I would like to....so I'll just throw this out. A couple of different radio shows across the country have commenced in refering to her by her new nick name - '' Weather vain ''

Good God!!!...another Bush apologist!....When you star a thread like this it deserves no more of a response than this.

"Bush Apologist?"  Is that the phrase of the day from the talking points?  Name-calling doesn't do much for the debate either.

domiguy -> RE: Hillary Defends Vote For Iraq Liberation (1/31/2007 7:02:34 PM)

It was short and to the point.  You start a thread out in this manner, shows no ability for reason...Why contribute?
Shout at the wind and you will end up with the same response...No intelligent response and a soar throat.!....What would lead anyone to believe that there is anything here of merit...I'm not buying!...Obviously no chance for a dailogue with someone who starts a thread blaming all of the problems of today on Bill Clinton...Another FREE THINKER!....

At least 3300+ troops hadn't died without a battle plan.

Remember that it was ole Billy boy and his crowd drew up the first drafts of that piece of law that was to become the patriot act!

Based on the established pattern of deceit of the Bush Administration, a LOT of people believed that.

What did we learn?

Bush either LIED or was SO WRONG HE DOESN'T DESERVE TO BE TRUSTED AGAIN.

Why blame anyone else for that?

No, the OP was apologizing for Bush's (A) Fraud or (B) Incompetence. (Whichever case you choose to believe ) by trying to apply the transitive property to it.

Gotta love gutless wonders.

She could just stand up and say "gee, I was misled by Monkeyboy , and I did a stupid thing."

On the other hand, this is not something lawyers and politicians know how to do.

As was the majority of this country...Still to this day there is a subsantial percent (at one time it was well over 50%) of the pop. who think that 9/11 and Saddam were somehow connected....We just  forgot what it means to be Americans...We are supposed to question our leaders...We are supposed to be pricks....What happened to us?

Oh yeah...I forgot....Global warming, another Dem conspiracy...sorry.

Anyone read that report where over 50% of scientists, that responded, (Gov't employed or sponsored) reported some amount of pressure to either change or amend reports that didn't quite jibe with current admin. views?  Just came out.  I will try to find link...actually a credible source...I know probably altered due to liberal media bias.

Did not just come out.

Rolling Stone, Discover, and Scientific American, among others, were reporting on the current adminstration's prediliction for washing information to support their goals.

No, I refuse to let my thoughts and opinions and thoughts get in the way of facts.

I just think all those folks who blame x, y, or z on Bush and/or his policies should actually think a little first, the patriot act is a prime example, the guy gets pilloried for enacting laws drafted by his predecessor from the opposite party. So remember all you anti-patriot act folks, in this instance (and possibly others) Bush only did what the democrats first proposed!

Clinton did a study on invading Iraq and taking out Saddam Hussein.

They did not do it.

Are you suggesting that Monkeyboy followed the recommendations of Clinton?

I'm not sure that the Enabling Acts... Sorry, that's incorrect, Patriot Act, in any form remotely resembling the current one, was ever put forth in Congress during Clinton.

Did they change the way legislation was enacted, so it wouldn't have been?

Sanity -> RE: Hillary Defends Vote For Iraq Liberation (1/31/2007 8:06:08 PM)

What I still find hilarious is Hillary (who has always been pro-war) might be the next big Democrat nominee, and yet not one of you Leftists cares to comment on it - beyond blaming her consistent pro-war stance on President Bush.

I simply said that the DEMOCRATS are pushing a pro-war candidate, and for that I'm labeled a "Bush Apologist"!!!

Smear 'em if they make a good point, I guess. Right, Lefty???

What a laugh...

sleazy -> RE: Hillary Defends Vote For Iraq Liberation (1/31/2007 8:07:21 PM)

Please note the use of the word "drafted", not "presented to congress".

Patriot has much in common with the uk version (Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act) as regards data mining and communications interception, as they were drafted in parallel, however we enacted RIP in.........2000!

Or does anybody seriously believe that the (supposedly incompetent) Bush administration drafted, presented to congress, and signed into law such a wonderfully complex piece of legislation in under 2 months?* And lets not forget in the senate it went through 98-1, lot of support from both sides there it seems, and again an awful lot of those supposedly pro-civil rights democrats seem to have voted to renew it last year. So on this issue at least it seems the problem is not Bush contrary to the claims of many who happily shout about how he has removed privacies

* version one of the act was actually voted onto the statute books within a month and a day of the strikes on Manhattan and Washington DC. I think that is damn fast moving for any governement that didnt already have the paper there in the wings waiting. How long does a law normally take from first proposal to statute?

It's the stereotyping. The Democrats sounds like The Bogeyman.

WHICH PEOPLE are standing for Hilary?

Not me. I still think Denis Kucinich is probably the only one in the pack worthy of any respect. That means he's a non-starter, but there you are.

Still, *blaming* her for believing Bush's lies? Don't you have to hold Bush accountable for those lies first? THEN go through the list holding other accountable?

If I remember right, Gen. Schwartzkopf said the US army in Iraq would be like a mamoth in a tar pit.  (Thinks Iraq. Thinks tar pit)

Maybe Bush was just having a dump at the time that was mentioned.

I guess Clinton could at least work and have a blowjob at the same time.[;)]
