This is something i have spent a lot of time on lately.. i am not registered - in fact did not go by slave until we couldnt deny the fact that it was true [i was collared as a submissive, and my contract doesnt even have the word master in it]

ANYWHO - so i was pondering this for the one year celebration of my being collared [only a few months away, i cant believe it!!] Master, i think does not know of this slave registration [He is not on CM and doesnt do much uhm, recreational reading - internet or otherwise]

i dont know what to expect as a reaction .. i am somewhat tempted to surprise Him with it, but in reality would never dare for fear of upsetting Him in some unseen way..

so for the sake of conversation here:

are you registered? to the original Master still?
was it Their idea?
was it your own initiative? how did you broach the subject?
would you ever do it as a surprise for Him/Her?
Anything else to share?

Here is what I will share......

While you might find a way to bring up to Master that this intrigues you, DO NOT go register on your own initiative without permission, and for fucks sake don't tatoo that thing on you without permission..........That would be BIG UNGLUED punishment where I am at. So, I would wonder about that.

It's a symbol, like anything else.

Frankly I put about zero credibility for it and find it amusing when I see slaves plastering it on their posts/emails/profiles and making a big to-do over it. 

But I think people feel the same way about my pink bunny peep, so it's all about perspective.

This is too bad -- he is depriving himself of the opportunity to stumble across some truly silly ideas on the internet, and merely has to be content in using you as he pleases.

If he were to learn about this slave registry, he may realize that everything he has been doing in the past has not been twue, and it could be a shattering experience. Tread carefully with this!

i don't really see the point of slave registration numbers, unless we revert to a society that actually recognizes consensual slavery as slavery, and then the only way i would actually see such a point is in government regulation. it just wouldn't have any value to me, nor to him, as a symbol of our relationship.

Mixi some people utilize the slave registration to have a sense of community and pride in their practice. All in all it is about what it means to you and yours. Everyone has a different motive behind using it. So ultimately it is about how you feel about it. I am sure there are many people out there that feel that using CM is frivolous or superfluous while others feel it is their community base and extended support.

I have a slave register number.  I got it for myself sometime last March, I believe.  I am not sure why I did it, but at the time I hadn't even heard of collarme, and needed some way to feel a part of the "community" I wasn't even sure existed.
 
To some people, it means nothing..to others, it means a lot.  I am sort of in the middle..I don't really think about it that often and most times forget it is there.  I did tell Master about it, and he has me registered to him on there..and my id tag has that number on it, along with the date I was collared to him.
 
I can't see why it would upset someone, meaning your Dom..but without knowing him..I can't say for sure.  He might look at it as a nice gesture, or he may wish you had asked first.
 
If you want to make it sort of sweet, how about waiting for V-day.. going on there and registering yourself to him..printing the certificate out, and giving it to him.  He might think it is a good thing if you do it that way.
 
Like anything else I have found..be it collars, brands, tattoos..etc..this thing only means as much to you as you want it to.
 
I think you can tell by the responses that most differ in their view of it, as they do with most things.

All people want to be acknowledged for what they are, their essential being. So all you want is recognition. If you are certain that you are a slave, that suffices for me. You are a slave. That should suffice for you. No registration symbolism required anymore. Now inform your master that you are this superhuman being and perform whatever tasks that are within your capabilities that he commands you to do. (Like perhaps travel all alone to India and start a new temple dedicated to Brahma or Krishna, or to Denmark to start a temple dedicated to Loki. Are you up to it, or are your capabilities otherwise?)

I am not registered, but my Daddy knows that I want it more than anything.  I think if I was to do it without either his permission or his participation, he would be less than pleased.  He loves to have involvement in almost everything I do.  But the reason he does know about the site is because I showed it to him and informed him I would love to have my number and barcode tattooed on me.  When he comes home in March I *think* I may become collared and registered since my friend is holding a package for him ... so that I won't open it.

Just in case someone doesn't get it: Sharpies don't just wash off. Yes, this is known from experience. Fortunately, it was nowhere that it could be seen wearing 'nilla clothing.

HAHA found that out at one of my conventions.  Thankfully it was on a part of my body generally covered by clothes and I was able to take lots of showers to help it along.

Personally I take the slave registery about as seriously as I take my handcuff earrings, as far as proving my worth as a submissve/slave goes. It's a bunch of random numbers. After talking to my dominant about it, we would print the thing out just to stick on our fridge for a giggle and never really pay it any mind (though I might stick on my profile as a joke). I can't understand why anyone wants that tattooed on their body though. Personally I would favor picking a number that means something to both of you.
