Platypus, The Ice Cycles Cd. Dont ask me why, but they are not bad. I bought 75 Cds for 20 bucks at a local flea market last week. Lots of 80s hair metal and alternative. I will be listening to this stuff for weeks.

New, no. Folk, you could say that. "Filk" is a word that originated with a very old typo in a convention programming book and refers to "science fiction folk music". It ranges from very, very good to downright awful, mostly because everybody is encouraged to participate and write and sing. The closest thing to the funny side of filk that most people would be familiar with is Weird Al Yancovic. For the serious side of filk, Lorena McKennit or some of the traditional Celtic bands like the Chieftains aren't far off of what you'd hear in a filk circle, except that they're singing about dragons and Dorsai and sandworms and starships.
