~fast reply~ Is anyone else concerned about these people who must need emotional, physical and quite possibly psychiatric help may not be getting it? If the scars are so bad, that they won't heel? Ever? Why? Where are the police in all of this? Abuse under any guise is nonetheless abuse... it can happen in all walks of life, and does. I don't know any statistics, but, would love to find some that shows the correlation of abused or murdered women (men too) were living in a D/s relationship or not? And within those D/s relationships where abuse does exist, how many of them are young or old? Abuse is something that happens at all age groups and of all generations/color/religion, it does not discriminate. As with any online site, you need to be responsible for yourself, take all precautions when you are on CM... I was relatively naiive and got started on this internet thing later in life, and I still figured that out relatively quickly, didn't need anyone to explain that to me either. In the end, sometimes shit happens, even with safety and precautions in place... is it an entire community, generation, or even websites fault? I think not... edited to say: maybe I am still naiive to fall for a tall tale. As somebody pointed out earlier -- maybe this is just their ploy to get disenchanted or abused submissives to flock to them for sympathy... although, I don't think that will work either, just a guess though...

Goodness everyone… give us a break! This was a short commentary about how inexperienced Doms have altered this lifestyle. From all the comments posted here, most have made a joke about a very dangerous situation. No, no one was advocating that everyone had to follow a certain set of guidelines or that your not justified in your beliefs or desires. We all are individuals with the same freedoms and rights. I apologize for using the term Old Guard as most do not know what it means. It stands for people who have been in this lifestyle for a very long time and follow the old ways. I don’t wish to argue this point with anyone for it does no good. I am the original writer of this post and if you wish to send any hate mail, please send it to me and not to my friends. Darkthunder

As far as the rest of your story, others have recommended it, report abuse! If you know someone is being abused report the perp immediately. Posting to a bunch of strangers, possibly a few dozen at most that will take what you say seriously, is not the best way to stop abusers... shining a light on them in your community is. While we are at it, you might find what you can do in your area to help with abused women shelters. Perhaps giving your time to something that is not only a "lifestyle" issue would be much more productive... as was mentioned, vanillas abuse too. My exhusband is a good example of that.

Darkthunder I'm not meaning to be disrespectful, but, I'm still wondering if the police have been called? I'm quite concerned about this... also, have the perpetrators been arrested and/or prosecuted? If it is how you say it is, this was abuse, plain and simple. I'm also quite concerned that what is so apparent to me that abuse is abuse... call it whatever you like, tie a pink ribbon on it, doesn't change what it is.... abuse. Abuse happens in ALL walks of life by all generations, ages, races, religions, economic status... it does not discriminate. One need look look to far back in history to hear of "old-timers" in entertainment whom people respected and admired only to come to find out they were abusive fck-heads... most of us either have personal or family experiences with it as well (my grandfather was a horrid man to my father and my Aunt... and I don't think he was into BDSM more like Jameson Irish Whiskey). So age or lifestyle is not a deciding factor of abuse and I don't think purely "inexperienced Doms" are the only ones in life guilty. And I'll second what juliaoceania said, maybe this is something you need to take up in your community, RT... volunteer at women's shelters, etc. If you are really concerned about how this next generation "have altered this lifestyle" -- (I may not be young, or a Dom but, I'm new to the lifestyle, so therefore, inexperienced and not of your generation too) may be try to give classes/ seminars/ online chats/ post more poitive threads than this one to discuss it -- rather than making a blanket/accusatory statement... reminded of an old-time tv show quote "never assume... you make an ass* out of u and me" -- little humor [:D] Side question: If you are the original poster, why do you have so many names? I'm not being "flip" I'm just curious.

To findmedaddy, Well if you took the time to read Ethicaldoms profile and look at his pictures you would know that he is not gay and would see that I am in his pictures and I am his Sub/Slave. To: KatyLied, Its not protesting to much when I have been with the man for just over 14 years now and have been married to him for just over 10 years and we have a 14 year old and a 15 year old together and I gave birth to 2 children all together, We have 2 teens now and I think I would know if my Master/Husband is gay or not nad what if he is? do you have a problem with gays?

Why do you only answer the "flip" comments and not the serious comments such as juliaoceania and sensualmagirl's? They bring up valid points again and again yet you choose to ignore them in favor of a couple of scarcastic comments. This to me does not signify dedication to a cause.

I was going to say something "flip" about this group of posters myself... changed my mind... want to take the higher road. But, I agree with you Lorelei, I don't think they are very dedicated to their cause... and I'm very serious about my concern for these people who obviously need serious medical and probably psychiatric attention pronto as well as that there might be preditors on the prowl. On a side note: I will say that the OP's (group of OPs) snide remarks about homosexuality they have been making has been killing me -- I have been biting my tongue, or holding my fingers as it were, not to comment on the 100% male thing... geesshhhh... gay men are 100% male too! The OPs go on and on protesting and protecting their "heterosexuality" -- was this an insult to them? Really? Being called gay is an insult? Not to me at all.
