I walked downstairs tonight preparing myself to brave the nasty blizzard going on in my part of Ohio, so that I could get to our dining hall. Fortunately, it isn't a terribly long walk, but when I got to the bottom of the steps I saw one of the most insane things I have ever seen in my life.

Now I've been known to do some crazy s*** with regards to the weather. I used to walk in the snow barefoot. I also went streaking in the rain at night during the beginning of last term. That was fun. This, however, would test even my limits.

At the bottom of the stairs I saw two of our tiny goth chicks jumping up and down in their bikinis... apparently they were trying to get really hot.... Why, you ask? Because a minute later they ran outside into the snow... in BIKINIS. I s*** you not, my friends.

This is nuts. It only happened about an hour ago, but I still can't stop laughing. Their screams will forever be imprinted upon my memory. What kind of nut runs outside in a bikini during a blizzard?????

never done that one but i did talk my girlfriend into swiming with me during the middle of december in an unheated pool.

Guilty!

After spending the first 16 years of my life in sunny Florida, my family moved to North Carolina.  When we had our first snowfall, I put on my black bikini and went outside so that my younger sister could take pictures of me laying in the snow in my black bikini.

When she was done, she ran for the apartment and slammed the door, locking me outside.  Which she thought was terrible funny.

If you jump out of a hot tub and into the snow bank.. It feels great... it makes your skin come alive..until you start to get cold and have to run back to the hot tub.

But I highly reccoment it..

Polar plunge swimming requires a different source of heat/ bravery. Much alcohol is consumed.

Oohhhhh!!!!  so have i! 

Here's something really awesome too!  A man i was seeing at the time told me to go outside, get nekkid, make snow angels.  He brought outside several bottles of different colored sugar water, as i was making the snow angels, he sprayed the bottles around my outline.  It's AMAZING! when it's all done and over with.

Ok, so you freeze your ass off.........but imagine a nice cold red ass with vampire gloves tossed into the mix.  *grinz*  Oooooooooooooooo!

I'd do it, it sounds like fun. 
But then again, I parade about in waist deep snow here wearing a skirt with my socks (that're supposed to be knee high) around my ankles.

I like the cold.

pk, i've read this several times, and i can't wrap my head around it... in my day goth chicks did not own bikinis

Bikinis tend to be a safe outfit in most of the goth clubs I attend. Quite often with stockings and a top hat.

Some friends and I have an annual tradition weekend at a cottage in the middle of winter.  There's an outdoor sauna by the shore, and it's dementedly invigorating on a suitably crisp night to bake in the sauna until you're about to collapse from heat-stroke, then rush outside to watch the steam pour off your skin and the snow melt away under your feet.  Repeat several times.

My sister and I had a waterfight outside in January.

We used to go to the ski resort and at night sit in the hot tub then go roll in the snow then go back into the hot tub. The hottubs were out side on the deck. But that's not really that wierd.

I think the coldest thing I did was swim in a glacier lake. Those are freeking cold.

It hit 34 degrees where I was, and when I got off work at 7:00 am my side windows were completely opaque from water and such.  Too lazy to go back in and get something to wipe them off I drove 10 miles with my windows down in a t-shirt (I couldn't afford to not have peripheral vision where I was driving).  I actually got bronchitus after that : (

not unusual - during the cold snap, i've seen joggers in shorts and crazed Bears fans with body paint covering their chest during games (drinking beer keeps them warm). after one game - a couple of them became the evening news because they jumped in the lake to celebrate a win. sometimes you might catch couples dressed up for a party wearing NO coat while waiting for a train.
