i've never confused lust with love, and it's always puzzled me how so many other people do. guess that's why it's always been very easy for me to have casual sex. love, sex...the two aren't even in the same ballpark.

Because some of us prefer sex with lovers instead of the casual variety. I am personally not aroused by casual "just a fuck" sex. I want to feel something on an intellectual and emotional level as well. I love fucking my Dom, just as much as I love affection from him.

I see nothing wrong with enjoyment of casual sex if it gets people off, but sex and love can be very intertwined for some people... I have had sex without love mind you, but some people go their whole lifetimes having sex with only people they love. There is nothing inherently flawed in that approach either.

i agree... Lust is the fireworks that fade away fast ... love is lasting devotion .. comfortably feeling like you have arrive at the place you belong.

I dont think Lust ever goes away, it's not unique to the other person, Love is unique to the person you Love but Lust is from within YOU, it drives people to get satisfaction for themselves.

Love or Lust?  Hmmm....I have lusted and have been in love but have had some disappointments.  I would like to have both but is that really possible in this world?

I had never thought of it this way, I will have to contemplate it. I think you are on to something there.

i like the addition of the infatuation in the mix.  i have probably been infatuated many more times in my life than i have been in love.  i think the main difference between lust and love for me is that lust does not necessarily have to involve any future commitment, whereas love does.  For me, lust can be fleeting but when i say i love someone, that is something that has happened over time and i expect to hold some future. 
 
Every now and then i run across a guy who i feel lust toward (which i don't act on)....but i in no way love him (hell, most times i don't even know him...lol).  And at some times in my life, that lust might have led to love....and that was the best combo.  Ahhh...to find that again [:-]
