ORIGINAL: Vendaval Yeah, I used to have a roommate that watched shows of the same dubious quality. I just got up and left the room. But are you not the one in control of the remote? You might try the technique I used to observe with the retired parents of a friend. The husband effectively shut off all communication by doing 3 things - 1. turning a sports game on the TV 2. wearing his headphones to listen the radio announcer for the game 3. reading the sports page in the newspaper at the same time quote:
ORIGINAL: SirKenin Lol. Fair question. I am not watching them, per se. My partner is. I just happen to be in the same vicinity on my computer at the time. I overhear all this drivel and when I look up I can watch the TV from where I sit. I have no interest in controlling the TV whatsoever. First, I hate TV so I do not use it anyways. If she wants to get use out of it, power to her. I do not micromanage, that is a hard limit for me. I am not a babysitter. She is welcome to watch whatever she wants. She gets enjoyment out of it so it is all good. It is not my choice, but what the hell. But it is funny that some of the shows she watches hightlight how many idiots there are in this world. I will admit, though, some of the stuff she watches can be pretty interesting. But again, she likes it and that is all that matters.
