I don't really think about it much to be honest, to busy enjoying the views and the  people i meet along the way. It's not some thing i look forward to, but i'm more worried about losing my marbles when and if i get alot older. But seen as i'm not face impending death, until then i'm not really going to know for sure if i'm truely affraid of death or not.

also not be able to see my family and friends anymore. And not able to indulge in eating my favourite food,or drinking my favourite drinks anymore.

Also i'll miss this site aswell,
I would also miss my hobbies, and no longer being able to indulge in things i enjoy,or places i like to visit.

Every time you go to sleep, there's a chance those things, and people, and experiences, won't be available to you anymore. Every time you speak, blink, breathe, think, and piss. Not everyone needs to be jubilant about natural decay, and not everyone is going to embrace it, and that's fine. But you don't need to fear it, any more than you need to fear each and every possible consequence of sneezing. Release the notion of "someday", enjoy yourself, and I gather you'll be fine.

The other option being, of course, to set up your own death now, in a place you've chosen, having said farewell to people and things exactly as you'd want to. You could even have a little string quartet.

i too am afraid of death because i just don't want to go & leave this world now or ever .... besides, there is a very young person still trapped in this "old" body that is screaming to be let out never mind wonder where the time all went .....

i am making plans however, for when i do die ..... i will have a 48 hour wake before cremation and burial ..... at my wake, as everyone files pass my casket, they will hear my voice (as they step on a trigger in the floor) say something witty, such as "Gee, don't i look great?" .... "Psst, they do my hair & make-up okay?" .... "Hey, how are the kids these days?" .... "Looks like i beat ya!!" ... and many many many more ..... this is my dying wish, this is how i'd like to go so i can have the last word .... oh, yeah, one more thing .... my epitaph ????
It wasn't easy being me ......

I hereby declare Wench's post to be the best, so far. (Aside from mine, obviously)

I really like the idea of the sound bites; something I'd go for - "is it me, or is it cold in here?" or how about "crikey I wish they'd get on with it, this is so boring!"

I'm having a really hard time deciding if this is the most perversely morbid or most insidiously moronic thing I've ever heard (well, in regards to funeralia, anyway). I'm totally stumped, kudos.

Well, while you are trying to make up your mind, here is a little mood music for you. *grins*

JOE DIFFIE
Prop Me Up Beside The Jukebox

Well I ain't afraid of die'n,It's the though of being dead
I wanna go on being me once my eulogys been read
Don't spread my ashes out to sea, don't lay me down to rest
You can put my mind to ease if you fill my last request

Prop me up beside the jukebox when I die
Lord I wanna go to heaven but I don't wanna go tonight
Fill my boots up with sand, put a stiff drink in my hand
prop me up beside the jukebox when I die

Just make your next selection and while your still iin line
You can pay you last respects one quarter at a time

Prop me up beside the jukebox when I die
Lord I wanna go to heaven but I don't wanna go tonight
fill my boots up with sand put a stiff drink in my hand
prop me up beside the jukebox when I die

I'm not afraid of death its a natural part of living. I believe in reincarnation so I'll be back in one form or another.

I am not really afraid of death, just prolonged dying. I watched my Father dye real slow and it is not the way anybody should have to go. That is why I have a living will.
