I was written up once by Martha Raye (she was mad because I refused to drive her around when she wanted me to).   Martha was a LT COL Nurse during viet nam and the only woman authorized to wear the Green Beret.

The brides maid at my last wedding was Lee Greenwood's sister.   I met Lee, his mom, and sisters many times.

I have met Haile Salassie and his grandson Comodore Destra when  I was in Ethiopia.

I have met many other's as well.   I worked Protocol for 3 years at Travis AFB where they traveled through and in Holland on 2 seperate occasions.

I think the one that I remember the best was General Westmorelands Daughter and her LONG legs and SHORT skirt    lol   I had to drive her to her home once.   Very distracting

I've met Sully from Godsmack and Steven Tyler from Aerosmith. Still have Sully's autograph somewhere.

A friend of mind told me a story about meeting Keifer Sutherland in a bathroom in an airport in colorado. He (my friend) was really drunk, and he said "Hey, you're Keifer Sutherland! Why don't you make a movie that doesn't suck?" Mr. Sutherland quite politely told him to "Fuck off." I can't blame him. LOL

Oh good god too many to list, but I think the MOST famous two would have to be Frank Sinatra and Bill Clinton.

LaT Aaack!!!

Frank Sinatra!!!! I am sooo jealous I'm kelly green. I was never able to formally meet him but I corresponded with him sporadically for a few years. I went to one of his last public concerts and was given a backstage pass to meet him by someone that knew how much I loved him. Unfortunately he was not feeling well afterwards (or during) and he wasn't there for the meet and greet. I did get to meet his son Frank Jr and was able to give him a note for his father. Aferwards I recieved a very nice letter from Mr Sinatra thanking me for my note. We wrote back and forth for awhile but once he began to get quite ill his assistant resonded to one saying that he enjoyed my letters and to please continue writing even though he might not reply. He called me once on my birthday 2 years before he died. I was devastated when he passed. There will never be another human like him ever again.

I managed an upscale restaurant/bar in my hometown in IL for several years and pretty much any celebrity or politician that came through town and stayed the night came to it to have dinner. I've met (and partied) with far too many to list as well.

Edited because I can't evidently spell worth a whit.

There is an Irish TD  (Member of our government)  who visits Me every 3-4 months, but I won't be naming names.  Does that count?!

RWAble -> RE: Who is the most famous person you have had the pleasure of meeting? (2/9/2007 12:23:26 PM)

I used to build huge houses for this one company and I meet and built homes or additions for: Lee Iacocoa, Bob Dylan, Billy Burke, Joe Montana, Reba McIntyre, David Crosby, Jeremy Irons and a few more. I have to say most of them had their noses so high in the air; they scraped clouds; but Lee Iacocoa was a sweetheart of a man. Very educated and highly compassionate person.

Tuomas -> RE: Who is the most famous person you have had the pleasure of meeting? (2/9/2007 12:36:40 PM)

Well, I met the President. And former president George H. Bush, and his lovely wife Barbara (who said, "a man never forgets oral sex".. gotta love a woman like that), oh, and Jeb, the Governor of Florida... Unfortunately that was before any one of them was president, so it was also before I was old enough to remember much of it.

RWAble, what about Jeremy Irons?

RWAble -> RE: Who is the most famous person you have had the pleasure of meeting? (2/9/2007 12:45:25 PM)

I have to say Tuomas; that Jeremy Irons was okay, but quite stand-offish. He didn't impress me as anybody special. At least he wasn't as bad as Bob Dylan, I threw out all his tapes I had of him; after meeting him.

Musicmystery -> RE: Who is the most famous person you have had the pleasure of meeting? (2/10/2007 11:51:53 AM)

You see, this is the nice part about being a musician. Almost makes up for the lousy pay and the poor job security.

Through my symphony work, classical training and when I worked in record distribution, I've met (and worked with) hundreds of famous classical, jazz, and pop musicians, dancers, and related artists. Tony Bennett. Richard White (Gaston in "Beauty and the Beast"). Itzak Perlman. Rudolph Nureyev. Aaron Copland. Roger Miller. Just to name a few.

And I will say that despite the rumors that sometimes circulate, most of them (admittedly not all!) are just as nice as can be--even quite generous with their time. Many warm memories.

Well I drove Willie Nelson around in a circle for an hour, and drove him a bunch of other times too, but not around in a circle. [;)]

Jessica Simpson, Burt Reynolds, Sean William Scott (who referred to me as "that wild woman" due to my backwards driving skills), Johnny Knoxville, Lynda Carter (Wonder Woman) and the rest of the Dukes of Hazzard movie cast.

I drove Hilary Swank quite a few times, and her two dogs.  And we sat in my van in the middle of a cow pasture, eating Cheese Nips and making fun of a woman (an extra) wearing a bow in her hair that made her look like the flying nun.

David Morrisey (British actor), Anna Sophia Robb (child actress) and the rest of the cast of the upcoming horror movie, "The Reaping".

Mare Winningham, her hubby and kids came to our home 20 years ago and had Sunday dinner with us and rode 3 wheelers in the woods.  Had a wonderful time.

LDRandAstarte -> RE: Who is the most famous person you have had the pleasure of meeting? (2/11/2007 8:05:24 PM)

One of my jobs involves meeting a lot of hollyweird celebs.

On the other hand, I agreed to not name names.  Considering I
am not really in to name dropping, I suppose it is all good.
