I've wanted for a long time to hop in the car and just drive as a vacation. Not have much of a plan. Go where I desire. See and do what I please. When I was married this simply wasn't possible. The last couple of years I haven't had the time nor the money to do this either. This year the thought has occured more and more to me. I am in the perfect position to do so. It was suggested in another thread of a beer run/road trip throughtout the country. Stopping by to see various collarme members, having a nice dinner and a few drinks and a lot of laughs. It was also suggested that members could hitch a ride for parts of the journey. Would there be any interest? I would bring you good cheese from WI, made just down the road from me. I of course would be posting to the website of the adventures and any possible pictures taken. What say you?

We (Scooter and I) would love for you to stop by here, we're in east central Indiana and real cheese lovers! And if you happen to make it a friday we'll take you to our local munch!

Oh man, what a great idea this is. I was so envious a few years ago when those guys did that "Master Card" commercial, going to all the MLB Parks throughout the country. I'd love to do that same thing, with a NHL Hockey theme...but that's obviously not going to happen this year ~bastages~.

Anyway, I'm with Taggard. If you are in the Western New York area, look us up. We'll have a Genny Beer and a Porker (gross white hotdogs that I only eat out of either desparation or for 'local color')and kick back in Rochester.

If you are in the middle of nowhere in Ohio during the school year let me know. I do live in a dormitory, but it's still kind of fun

If it's not during the school year then I can't help you, because I am homeless during that time

Sounds like a great idea to me. My daughter and I drove from WA to FL and back. We only had a few motel reservations ahead of time, like New year's eve in Vegas and 3 days in New Orleans. We had a ball. We stayed at a lot of Casino hotels, visited a lot of relatives, and saw a lot of National Parks and other sites. I also met several online friends from my game site along the way. We took about three weeks each way.

Ok, I checked with work today. What seems to work out best for me and them is the first week of August. I think I would be camping all throughtout a trip. It is cheaper and more fun with the fire going.

Did I mention my golf clubs will be in the car? Never know when an emergency golf session might break out.

I'm serious about this now. I had all day to think of it. I think I will be taking such a trip no matter what. So as of now, Indiana, Ohio possibly, and New York. All doable. I might have to stop in Gettysburg to see the battlefield again. Where else can I add to the itinerary(spelling on that please Chuck)?

Now you're talking. I'll hit some balls with you if you make it Seattle.

Sagamore golf course is right down the road from us! Personally I don't golf, but Scooter and my brother says it's a great course.

Well, I was going to offer our guest bedroom, but you wouldn't like Mississippi in August. It's only slightly hotter than the inside of a hat. But my spouse would gladly take you golfing. He's quite addicted.

The offer still stands to come to S. Carolina. I am only 45 min from Columbia and 2 1/2 from Atlanta, Charleston, and Hilton Head and Charlotte, NC. About 4 from Myrtle Beach.

Yeah, I'd offer up southern Florida but like Dixie said, August is not the time!!
Besides, how are you going to see everything in only a week? Lead foot?

Oh it might be stretched into more than a week. But yes I do tend to have a heavy foot. Shhhh, don't tell the cops when I am on the road.

My parents head to Gulf Shores every winter, so FL and Miss might be possible for next winter. You are right about summers down south, I would not want to be there.....is clothing optional? lol

I have so many places I want to get too, I doubt I will get to them all this year. Key West is on the list.

Hmmmmm
Care for a driving buddy for the week?
Ive had one heck of a year Grey and a
week away with someone I DONT KNOW
just driving around slumming about
sounds rather soothing at the moment.
Course I am a Ol Dominant Kinkster who
makes most common folks unconfortable
to be around Me .....mmm the smell of
wet ground and trees higher then 8 feet
that is a temptation but I dont do golf.
Course Ya probabaly would prefer a couple
subjudicants instead to keep Ya company.
