Hi: This is a FYI. I use to have a Water Monitor Lizard. (Veranus Salvator) Water Monitors are the second largest living lizards on this planet! The largest is the Komodo Dragon. Because of "Puff's" size, he began to cost a lot to feed, so I began to raise mice and rats. I fed the mice and rats wild bird seed, bread and Tap Water. I began to notice the mice getting tumors, that were grotesqe, and grew exponentially, larger by the day! I tried to figure out what caused the tumors, and by process of elimination came to believe the Clorinated Water was the culpret. I began to give bottled water, and never saw another tumor! I mentioned this to a Veterinarian; his reply was I may have found a Trojan Horse?

Some of us can live forever...just take our bodies out of the freezer when you want to talk with us. Freeze us again when the chat is over.

ProScatman! i raised mice for years too...i have 7 cats who love to eat them, lol. Anyway, the mice kept getting cancer after the city decided to chlorinate our water. Before then it was rare. Those stupid books kept saying that if i kept the cages clean enough that it wouldn't happen...balderdash. Thanks for the heads-up...i'm switching mine to bottled water now. And i need to find that water filter gizmo, lol, because my son is more important than mice...

Btw, the vet told me if it happened again; I could bring the dead mouse to him and for $110 he could send it to a lab to determine the cause of the cancer. I never had a problem after that though. It's scarry when you think about it!
