An excellent reason to be a dom is because after 20 days on a personals site, you couldn't find a domme that suited you.

If you want someone who is focused, goal oriented, strict, knows what she wants...you need to think about what you have to be in order to attract that type of person.

A leap of faith got you

bandit25 -> RE: Hel (2/14/2007 4:51:44 AM)

Ok, I don't even know what the hell you are talking about now.  Do you?

ShiftedJewel -> RE: Hel (2/14/2007 4:56:01 AM)

Good question.... Do I just have that affect on people? I was talking to a guy that started out as a female dominant... then changed his profile to male sub then to male dominant... all in less then 24 hours.... is it me?

Redwall.... what ARE you talking about?

Just wated sex I will go to the bar but thanks for your imput

bandit25 -> RE: Hel (2/14/2007 4:59:31 AM)

LOL, Jewel.  Nah, it's not you.  With a few notable exceptions...you, Scooter, twice and a few others, it seems like many on here don't know what they want.  Or are afraid to take it once it's offered.  Hey...was the guy's name Sybill?

bandit25 -> RE: Hel (2/14/2007 5:01:13 AM)

I think the bar is probably your best bet but I wouldn't talk too much if I were you.  You're very confusing.

Trust

Redwall.... we are all looking for someone we can trust. Not one person here would say they are looking to be lied to and used... but it happens nontheless. Trust is earned, not a given. You want to be able to trust someone... earn their trust and give the the chance to earn yours. It isn't so simple... if it were I would the first to jump on that bandwagon and trust people to be honest and straightforward... but I'm just not into getting hurt like that anymore then I can avoid it.

I understand your frustration... hell, everyone here does... and we've earned that frustration.

I have a question? Why is it that you state you may decide to go back to Alaska to work the fishing boats but aren't open to relocate for a relationship?

LOL  There's a lot of crazy going around....from the 19 year old kid who cussed at me for saying not interested then begged for another chance then was suddenly 21....to the AB I said no thanks to only to have a dom contact me telling me how wonderful the AB was and that I needed to reconsider - oddly enough the dom was the same age, height, weight, and location as the AB...lol....

DiurnalVampire -> RE: Hel (2/14/2007 5:12:14 AM)

To be quite honest, if you are looking for a Domme, than declaring that you know you are going to have to play the dominant part becasue you cant find a woman who stands up for herself is not the way to go.  Even if I were interested, that would ave flipped the OFF switch right there.
Before you search to find someone, you REALLY have to define what it is you are searching for.  You cant go find your perfect someone if you dont know who they are.  If you want a Domme, then you have to be patient, and you have to make an effort to find some that want what you want.

AS to what you said about backbone, some of us demand that our boys or girls have a backbone.  We dont all like doormats.  I selected my boy becasue of his personality and his opinions.  I do not want him to give up his self to be my pet.
And then, there are the ones who want mindless slave pets to give up their everything to serve. If you are finding too many of them, perhaps its time to rethink your search and see if maybe there is a trait you are forgetting to look for.

Good luck

onestandingstill -> RE: Hel (2/14/2007 7:10:28 AM)

Having a back bone and being one who makes the power exchange a tug of war is two different things.
Being submissive means you agree to let your will and choices be governed fully and completely by another.
Resistance is not an admirable trait, nor is trying to lead or direct in a sub.
Maybe you're more of a conditional bottom like me.
I'm a VERY service oriented submissive woman, I'm just not ready to fully give my life and control over to another right now.
One day I hope to reach the point I can honestly give my will and my life over to Sir Rob, but it's a process that's going to take time.
Maybe it's the same for you.
Once you have the right person (like I do) and the two of you grow together in trust, maybe then you'll be able to submit fully without worrying about having a back bone that's rigid.

Ewwww Dawn LOVE the new hair! That is a great shade on you :)

to the OP: Perhaps making a thread where you whine about not finding the right person ,in very confussing broken sentence fragments, isn't the best idea.

Hello all

I was just wondering why everyone seems to think that because I'm sub that it means I have no backbone?

Two possilbe reasons:
1) You haven't met enough people to realize that sweeping generalizations aren't necessarily true. Do a search on the subject here in the forums and you'll see a wide vareity of people who do not agree that subs don't have backbones.
2) You are portraying yourself in such as way that says that you don't. The statement that you want to find a woman who you can trust right from the start is dubious and may indicate that to some people.

BTW, change the background color on your text in your profile or, at least, bold your text. It's hard to read.
