Is your Sir one of those kid of guys who can fix or build just about anything? Is he a regular MacGyver who can make something amazing with a toilet paper roller, two tampons and some toothpaste? My Sir is exactly one of those kinds of guys. He can build a computer from scratch, fix the car, lay a new floor or build some new and twisted apparatus for our play. It always just amazes me how His mind works and what He can build or do. What happens though when we take Him out of His element? Have Him do something that you normally take care of? Last night Sir and I were at the grocery store together. This is one of the things that I normally do. We only needed a few items(about 10) so I decided to use the automated checkout. Well this turned out to be a priceless experience! Sir, when He goes to the store, generally has a cashier ring Him up. As we stood there checking the groceries, the machine kept giving us orders that made no sense. "Please place the item back in the bag" "Wait for cashier assistance" Please place the item back in the bag" "Please place the item back in the bag". It just kept giving us commands over and over. Now I stood there watching this very intelligent man in a fight with a robot, His frustration growing by the second. It ended up with Him talking back to the machine....."The item IS in the bag!". Just as I thought the robot may be in real danger I realized that the problem was that Sir kept leaning on the scale! We finished our checkout with little trouble from that point on. As we left, Sir looked over to me and shook His head and said, "What the hell was so wrong with having real people check you out? That is the stupidest invention I have ever seen!". To which I could not help but bust out in giggles. So...........what happens when you take your Sir out of His element? Funny stories to share?

giggles thanks for the laugh -- and it is funny because i wont use them machines either unless my daughter is with me to do it for me (she is 10 LOL) You mean we aren't suppose to talk back to it? Ill have to think on this one for a good story (on my way to work and needed the laugh :) hugs Jenn!

Yes, Scooter is one of those people that can fix or build anything. The only time I have ever seen him out of his element is if I get sick. Then he is helpless and frustrated. I asked him for some cup o'noodles one time, before he understood which brand it is that I like. Well, he came home with lipton instant soup, chicken noodle soup and a few varieties of noodles including top ramen and off brands of the ones I like. I had also requested 7up, I got 7up and sprite, a case of each. Along with that I got a variety of cold meds, sinus meds and fever reducing meds. On top of that I got herbal remedies and a digital thermometer. All for one cold. He is so incredibly cute in his devotion to me, I have to laugh because he is so over-whelmed when faced with a common cold. Jewel

We've lived in the same house for 28 years now and Hubby still can't find a thing. If i am out of town He has to phone me to ask where the coffee is (it's been in the same place since we moved in), or anything else in the kitchen. When i am gone, needless to say, He eats every meal out. The same goes for laundry. He will buy new underwear rather than attempt the washing machine. It should be very interesting if i die before Him. I'm sure He hasn't a clue where the broom and vacuum are kept either[:o]

Huh, what, mystoferin I don't understand. I won't use the silly check out yourself things either, they are possessed I tell ya. So are the damned debit card "machines", slide my card (?), I did already you moronic bucket of electronics...lmao. Tell RJ I'm on his side, I want a checkout lady, cute one preferably! AS for SJs comments on my attempt to ward off the common cold...how was I to know they made a blue million different kinds of that soup, and cold medicine and.....ha ha. Give me something I can fix with a welder, a hammer and a wrench!

I hate those things. Half the time they're incorrectly calibrated, so even if you AREN'T leaning on anything, it still complains at you. And hell, if we're not using the services of an employee, that means they don't have to pay someone to take care of us. Where's our discount for making things cheaper for the store?
