ORIGINAL: MasterKalif twicehappy, very interesting post, yet without being much aware of the core belifes and practices of Druid, I find that I go by a lot of what you posted (not everything)....could this be a point in common with other religions? How did Druid came about? I will read your link....interesting post. The core beliefs of almost every druidic sect are posted above. The link is to Asatru not druidism. Druidism is about knowledge (it translates loosely to tree knowledge) and keeping the oaths listed above as a way of life. You can be druid and worship any gods. My family has been both druid and followers of Asatru for a little over three hundred years, going so far as to adopt Catholicism as a cover because the timing of the holidays is very similar. We are Asatru because as family legend tells it a matriarch of our line saved a beast sacred to Ormigunda, Our Lady of the Beasts. In return she granted my family the heat and fertility of the beasts and long life. No woman of my line has died before 102 years of age. I am the oldest of 18, my mom was the baby of 23, one of my uncles has 28 kids, he's 82 and has a 3 year old, one of my brothers has 7, another aunt has 22.(I could go on but you get the point). We become fertile between 8 and 12 years of age (my Gran had her first at 12). We go through menopause usually between 65 and 70(my Gran had my mom at 52, her last baby). I believe my granny, and i was scared, i got myself fixed after 3.
