My car is iced and snowed in so I'm working from home until I can find a shovel in my house that isn't broken.  I'm a 28 year old single submissive seeking either friends or a monogamous significant other and Dom.

I'm a computer programmer (read: professional geek) and in my spare time I enjoy reading, writing, science fiction, fantasy, anime, and rpgs.  I also go to Tai Chi and yoga classes and work out on my eliptical, and am vegan.

Welcome to the boards, fellow New Englander! Sounds like you're faring about as well as I am with this storm. Had to call up help yesterday to dig my car out.

I'm working from home for the second day in a row due to this crazy storm.  Nuts.  I really do live on a bad street that is plowed horribly, unfortunately.  And 911 will never find me due to the labeling of the street numbers having been done by a drunken monkey.

The good news is that when the alien invasion comes, they will NEVER find me.  MWAHAHAHA

To be in Tahiti..especially a few 100 years ago..I studied Tai Chi...There actually isn't much I haven't studied...Looking for friends..a sub...awaiting a keyboard I purchased to pretty much finish off my mini-recording studio...get the backing tracks of music to songs recorded on the keyboard..transfer to digital recorder..add vocals...

And just play & have fun...find a sub who wants to play & have fun...Come into my Tipi..sit or lay on the soft furs...the coals of the fire dimly light the Tipi...The Wolf howls for his shewolf...

Hiya, I grew up in the Boston area (Woburn).
I lived in Hampton, N.H. for 10 years and moved down here to get away from the severe New England winters and high housing prices and love it down here!
Winters are too long, cold and dark up there!
My heat and elec bill for Jan here was $83. They'd be $300 up North.
I'm watching the golfers out the back slider as I'm typing this!

My entire house is electric and after the bill I had in January I'm working on being more energy efficient.  I've already replaced nearly all of the lightbulbs with energy efficent ones and lights are turned out (except for the nightlights, which I leave on for the kitties).

I'm not worried about my computer because the monitor turns off after a specific period of time.

Omgs you're in ME, you poor soul.

We had frozen rain with snow so it's frozen solid.  I can literally walk on top of the snow and barely leave footprints.

I think that's worse than what we have here. I hate ice!

Hello from Boston... I'm working from home too... due to sinus infection/bronchitis... but, the other Graphic Designer of our office is also home because she fell on the ice walking to the T-station this morning...

Anyhow, welcome

Thanks for the welcome!

I think all of the sane people are home.  Or most.  The rest are either forced to go in or will be smart enough to leave early.  It's just not good out there.  You'd think the Boston area had never seen snow or ice before.  Yeesh.

Try shoveling snow that has been turned into ice on a long driveway.

No wonder my shovel broke.

Yes, I had to go out this morning to the doctors and then to get my prescriptions... ummm... you'd think by the looks of the sidewalks, they never heard of this thing called sand or ice-melt.... I almost fell myself, well, once was inside the Prudential Mall from them trying to clean up the mud tracked in by snow boots... LOL

Ah, it's nice to remember Massachusetts... particularly from our new home in Florida.  Libby and I lived in the Brighton section of Boston for almost a decade before moving.  Of course, life isn't perfect here.  It's terribly cold right now... just over 65 degrees [evil grin]

You might want to check into the New England Bondage Society.  It might help with finding friends.  There are also a number of munches in the area.

I just rejoined NEDS and NELA, and have been attending the TNG munches again.  I was briefly in the scene a few years ago then went on a hiatus for personal reasons.

Good to be back.  :)

New England Dungeon Society!  [slapping forehead and laughing]  My memory is going.  Libby and I founded it back in 93 or so as Boston Dungeon Society and they changed the name a few years back and I just forgot what they changed it to.

Good to meet you.  :)
