The teenage trolls don't bother me much. In fact they're usually pretty good about giving me something to laugh about. Look at as a blessing, if you can. Try saying to yourself, "There, but for the grace of God, go I". Seriously, when you're having a bad day, you can look at the drivel coming from the Moron Squad and know that at least you're not THAT misguided, lol.

perverseangelic -> RE: Sick of it (3/13/2005 10:14:26 PM)

Y'know, I don't think most of this boards trolls are teenagers.

domtimothy46176 -> RE: Sick of it (3/13/2005 11:39:11 PM)

If you're right and most of them are grown adults, doesn't that make you feel so much better about what YOU'VE accomplished in your life? If they truly ARE real grownups, then I turned out even better than I thought I did, compared to my peers, lol. J/K, of course, Lord King Mighty Mouse has no peers! "Here I come to save the daaaay!"

'pologize. I wasn't trying to be an ass, but I'm close to "teenage" and we get a -bad- name, when, in some cases, we haven't earned it.

domtimothy46176 -> RE: Sick of it (3/14/2005 12:34:56 AM)

Hey now, nothing to apologize for, I get ruffled feathers when I see blatant generalizations about short men. Sterotypes suck like a giant Hoover and can be extremely offensive. Besides, I didn't see that you posted anything but a valid point. More than likely the biggest morons here aren't the teenagers but grown men and women who might reasonable be expected to have sufficient life-experience and maturity to know better.

Eh, this is what life is like on the boards, it's universal (including people getting tired of it, make a post about leaving and then decide to stay, happens all the time on all types of boards).

Take what you want and leave the rest. People aren't going to change. If you enjoy, then enjoy. Rarely is making a vent going to help anything except start more fires.

ElektraUkM -> RE: Sick of it (3/14/2005 12:22:43 PM)

I've just been talking to Master about this whole thing. I joined Collar.me because I wanted to find like-minded people. I wanted some 'validation' of my life, I suppose. And I knew it wouldn't be easy because of the Married Master thing.

He said, that people will always argue definitions because.. it's not the *words* they're defining, but themselves. It's an important part of who they are. And it happens in all areas of life. It's just a shame when in defining ourselves, we try to shove other people into other categories to suit our own purposes.

Well, I'm going to continue to be me, with all my faults and the not-quite-rightness of my relationship. None of you know me or how I got here, and I think this is mostly true of most of the people we meet online (or, in fact, anywhere). I want to quote someone but I'm unsure of the author now it's been so long since I used it .. Philo of Alexander (?), anyway, the quote is:

"Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a great battle"

We all define others to suit ourselves it's part of the selection process by which we filter out those who are "our" people. It's the basis for nearly every social group outside of the family. it's only the criteria that change.

Be Kind, for you will meet everyone in battle?

I may meet them in a battle... doesn't mean I must, or will, fight them.
