I recently bought my first inflatable gag to use with my sub. I'm a bit concerned about how the inflated part will stand up against teeth. Has anyone ever bitten through and popped one before?

The bladder is placed behind the teeth and when inflated can not be bitten. Even if a cheek type infatable is used, placed between teeth and cheeks, will be difficult to bite.

I have had one for over 3 years, it has not been bitten yet... Bought it from Clone Zone.

Be careful using inflatable gags as they can cause suffication if inflated too much. I have read several article about this. I will try to find them if you like.

Yes, it is very important to be cautious as to how much the bulb is inflated. Good advice.

The main danger with inflatable gag's in my opinion is not neccesarily from biteing, but from too sharp edges of the back teeth. I have been using inflatable gag for some years and never had any problems with the bulb inside the mouth. And yes... we use the gag also in breath play to cut the breathing.

The only problem that i have had with my inflatable gags is the releasevalve (plastic) which tends to get stuck, won't deflate the gag so you have to pull the tube out of the pump or to cut the tube.

We have had trouble with the plastic valves too, but we do have one gag that cost a bit more, that came with a metal valve which works great. No problems with biting, as when it's pumped up good, it's almost imposible to close the mouth at all, but yes, you really have to watch for over inflation, as it can shut off the air completely or cause a gag reflex.

I have heard that inflatable gags can be hazardous.

Especially if the submissive somehow vomits while wearing one.
The vomitus could enter the lungs and soffocate the submissive.

On the other hand, a inflatable rectal plug is said to be fairly safe...

The biggest problem with the inflatable gags, is that it's very hard to know when to stop inflating them, as the gag is hidden from the Dominants view, and it's hard to know if it is blown up enough, or too much. Due to differences in anatomy, from one person to another, the problems of overinflation can vary. Underinflation isn't good either, as the gag won't be working to its full potential. I will say, that when inflated properly, the feel to the submissive is extraordinary, and extremely silencing. That hanging bulb and hose can really be a turn on, or stir humiliation, depending on the situation, and the submissive !!!

One way of knowing how much to inflate is to experiment how many pumps are wanted in terms of comfort or effectiveness errr uncomfort.

Other way which some ppl like is to pump the gag up until the sub stops breathing. Start deflating and when you hear breathing sounds you can stop deflating.

I love the concept of the inflatable gags, but they're sized wrong. The butterfly gags a simply too big for most females, and the long narrow ones have a risk of hitting the back of the throat and triggering the gag reflex.

Anyone know if there's one available that's more of a ball shape?

Every one I've ever seen has been of the long variety .... I'm sure a round one would work much better, but there must be a reason that they aren't made.

For rounded type IGs try rubberevashop.com. I'm fairly sure they have them.
As for biteing the gag, the gag that my Ex used had a hard core and a thick Rubber Sheathing, bitting it left teeth marks but I never "poped" (for lack of a better word) it. Also it your worried about suffaction try useing a gag with an air tube or an inflatable enema plug If you can't fine one. Be Resourceful!

Which type of inflatable gag are you talking about? There are lots of them: a bulb, a penis gag, penis gags with built in airways, butterfly gags -- just to name a few.

As for choking on vomit or not being able to breathe, well -- I'd think that ANY gag could have this effect and any responsible top needs to check on the bottom anyway.

Also, the quality inflatable have metal releases. And quality vendors stand behind them and will replace defective ones.

Check out TheLatexStore.com or MidnightBlues.net. They sell lots and lots of gags of many varieties!

I have several pump gags. I put non-lubricated condoms over the gags to protect them as well as keeping them clean. The non-lubricated ones don't taste bad. Try the gag on yourself before you put it on the sub to see how many pumps it take to get full. I start the sub out with like two or three full pumps and let it sit a minute to have them get used to it. Then one full pump at a time every minute or two. Usually 4 or 5 and they are full depending on the gag and the sub. Maybe have the sub give a thumb or finger up for more and down for less. Frantic hand movements means troble and deflate it and remove fast.
