You could use TOR (the onion router) maybe try to run it off a flash drive? I don't know if the anonymizer works anymore? Also this might be of interest - http://www.publicproxyservers.com/ Oh and always avoid IRC on a work machine. There are so many reasons, and cybering is the least of the problems. We block it at the firewall. It can be used to quickly and easily distribute copywrited work, to generate tons of spam, etc. etc. IRC bad.
