They have nothing else to do.[:D]

I see you got the full flamers broadside with little to no insight or attempt to answer your question. As far as I'm aware there 2 reasons why someone would use a prefix such as true. There seems to have been a number of flakey doms. Maybe they were trying to find a word to convey that they aren't that kind of dom. The other thought is there are some Masters/Doms who were born with the desire to Dominate. They might be using true to convey how deeply ingrained being Dominant is, I hope this provides a broader perspective and understanding.[image]http://www.collarchat.com/micons/m21.gif[/image]

michaels4evr -> RE: "True" term on line.... (2/18/2007 6:44:58 AM)

If they mean true to themselves, their own ideals, values, ethics then i have no issue with them. In this vein, I am also true. Its when they believe that even those not in a relationship with them should also adhere to their standards, that I take issue.

Fast Reply

What I have always felt was more intersting than the use of the word "true," is the strong reaction from others over a single word.

I don't really care either way about the use of the word. I've used it, my Master has used it; it has its time & place.  If someone says "true" I don't automatically take it as some implication that I am not actually submissive....and if they do mean that - - so what?  I'm not in competition, and if my Master is happy with my submission, then I'm plenty happy.

It's a fascination to me, how predictable the reactions are, and how emotionally connected they seem to be.

azzmaster -> RE: "True" term on line.... (2/18/2007 9:45:17 AM)

damn people. if someone wants to use "true" or "real" let em. too much trying to outguess and outthink and outdo other people. its like some damn bridge party my mom used to have with all the ol ladies cacklin about whicheva hen hadn't shown up that day

Thank you for sharing this.  Lately, I have been questioning whether or not I am a "true" submissive, in that do I have a deep core of submission.  Or was I just so drawn to my former Master that I was willing to do ANYTHING for him.  I havent felt that kind of devotion or depth of feeling before him or since him.

So am I a "true" at core submissive... or can I only be submissive with a certain man, which to me isnt the same thing.  I aslo make the distinction that I am a "real time" submissive to convey that I have done this face to face, in person, rather than "just" online.

I think that labels sometimes help us save time and avoid problems or danger down the road.  I recently had a debate with a Master about him calling himself a sadist in his profile.  To me, that word is a huge red flag... If he is a TRUE sadist... LOL.. Im outta there!  He tried to convince me that he meant somthing else by using that word... After awhile, he admitted not having much experience...

Using labels can be descriptive, not judgemental... I do often wonder what some people mean when they use those words "true" and "real"... Is it a way to put emphasis into their writing, since writing here is flat and without emotion, facial features, vocal intonations etc...???..

I do think there IS a difference between onlne only and real time.  I started out online, because that was all I could handle... But I have become real time... Whether or not a Dom has real time experience is important to me... but just because someone has found someone to be real time with so far, does that also mean they are "real" or "true" in their chosen scene role...???..

I dont know if I answered what the OP wanted to know... or if this was just aimless rambling... LOL.. I just felt moved to reply...

How you can be so dismissive, so disrespectful, so cold...???..  Do you ever think about how a new submissive will read some of your posts??? Or as a Dom you just dont give a damn how a submisisve feels about something written here???

I can't speak for Michael, but you assume that everyone who reads that is gonna be a delicate little flower like you and get upset by it; some others may laugh and some may get their panties wet from reading the same thing. It's a diverse world out there and everyone doesn't have to behave the way you want.

Same thing happens when folks folks start tossing around the word "true"; some will roll their eyes wondering about the goofball, while another goofball's heart starts to flutter with excitement at finding a kindred spirit.

So what you see as a cold statement is actually quite effective for attracting others with similar views and repelling whiny sensitive girls who get upset over such stuff; no problem because there will be some caring type of dom out there who will provide warm and fuzzy feelings along with pink bunny rabbits. The moral here is that we can't please everyone, and we shouldn't try . . . and that folks will describe themselves as true even though it is a useless modifyer.

Ummmmm...  Re-read what he wrote.  He said that many online subs fall for it.  He didn't say online subs are idiots, he didn't say all subs are dumb as a bag of rocks, he didn't say online players should be institutionalized, he said that many subs fall for it.  Which is true.

Granted, his post was not written with cuddle-fluffkins in mind, but it was a true statement made in a humourous way.

What mpre could you ask?

Ummm sorry sweetie...  I wasnt hurt like that so Im not lashing out... I was just commenting on how cold and cruel he can be... If that excites you or humors you, I have to wonder why... Insulting online submissives like that just isnt amusing to ME... but then we all cant be cool like YOU... LOL..

Oh I know that most people here dont behave at all, let alone as I wish they would... And Im not a delicate little flower but you wouldnt know that since you dont know ME... And Im sure you are not calling ME a whiny girl... LOL.. Its funny when one of you get questioned about something you immediately start calling the women names... like whiny... stupid... etc... tsk tsk...

I feel sorry for any woman who would be attracted to or aroused by a man who made that statement... that calling many online submissives stupid enough to fall for that would appeal to any women is sad to ME... Maybe you just sleep better at night thinking that you are so clever and that he is so clever and that there are hoards of women dying to serve at your feet... LOL..

Uummmmm... YOU need to re-read what he said... He said that many online submissives are STUPID enough to fall for that...  And since when did brutal cruelty become the norm or the desired way to respond to other people...???..  One can be direct and honest without being offensive... Try it some time people

Sternhand4 -> RE: "True" term on line.... (2/18/2007 9:27:05 PM)

There's a line that goes, " perception is reality"

True is what you perceive it to be. For some online is all they can/want to explore. Others revel in the real time meeting and bonding.

Only you can decide which path is true, for you.
