Rewriting your profile isn’t rewriting your life as far as I can gather.

The current system is fine.

Besides search engines in general rank any pages that are of significance.  Explore google labs.... you might find your answere there.
I really ough to charge for this advice..... since I seen with my own eyes what is possible.

Ok, apart from the people being assholes, just for the sake of being assholes to this guy.

There is a very good reason for measuring hits.  I have been a webmaster for a long time and the single most important statistic you rely on is hits.  Of course as a webmaster you have far more detailed analysis of the traffic, but the basic idea is the same.

This would help those that are seeking.  If they find out they are receiving significant traffic to their profile, but they are not receiving any responses, they can then analyze their profile and find out where it is lacking.  Then they can reanalyze the new statistics and find out if their ratio of hits to responses increases based upon the improvements.

It would definitely be a valuable tool to the active seeker.

Personally I do not care, but then again I am not seeking either.

I really don't think that this is why he is suggesting it. I am a member of another site in the UK that does give you the number of hits to your profile. The op also had a profile there and was constantly posting on the boards with subjects like "who is stalking me now", "who is viewing my profile", "xxxx number of people have viewed my profile" etc.

Pure case of attention seeking
