I am not asking this question to piss anyone off but I have often wondered this ....
if You are paid for Your services, who really has the control?

The person who's making you give her money to do what she wants/likes to do is in control in my opinion.   If I were a pro, I would only take clients whom I could enjoy being around, and who enjoyed doing those things I like or at least don't hate...  Either way, it would cost him enough to respect the domination and either come back or not.   M

THe ONLY one who is obssessed about "whose" in "CONTROL" is YOU.   ::yawn::

Guess what. The boring "who has real control"  aint an issue for the pro or her client.   So ha fucking ha.

And bythefreakin way subs scening with nonpro have some control there as well.  Does that take anything away from the domme as you seem to say to the pros?

Let me ask you this: If a Domme (pro or not) negotiates a scene, discovering what the subbie wants, and how hard, and what to do and what not to do... and then proceeds to carry out that negotiated scene... who's in control?

An employee always has the right to walk off the job regardless of who signs the paycheck, but that employee still has to pay taxes, so ultimately, Uncle Sam is in control. (Insert uncle of choice depending on where you live.)

Until you have seen the temper tantrum and hissy fit thrown by a "pay for play sub" when you turn them down, repeatedly, not matter HOW much money they offer, have you seen real control.

I think a lot of the male subs that are really bitter about pro femdoms might some men that were refused sessions despite how much they were willing to pay.

The highest quality and most successful professional femdoms will discriminate who they want to see because of supply and demand.  They are indeed in control.  They don't like the way a guy looks, acts or smells, he is out the door. She can turn him down based on an email application or phone call.

Why, this question has nothing to do with ProDommes.

The person who has ultimate control is the same person in any setting.  The one that can walk away when they think they're done.

Authority might be one thing, and power something else again altogether, and either can get to be a little blurry.  But actual control never dissipates.

I second what Akasha (props to Her for Her wonderful site!) says here. I don't know that I am among the "most succesful"--I'm part-time and have only been Pro for less then three years--but I am picky. I have prospective pets fill out a long questionnaire and then I interview them--and then I have a trial month. What's more, I don't do one-off sessions, I build relationships. So I find that I am very much in control through the entire process. I hate pets topping from the bottom and I break things off if that starts to happen with any frequency.

This is why I don't do session play but make men into long-term pets instead. We negotiate a contract with hard and soft limits, and after that, I decide what happens.

I agreee with Mia about the attitude. But actually, I do care about being in control--not because I "worry" about it, but because control is what personally gets Me wet. I was "lifestyle" long before I was "Pro" (don't really like either term very much) and I can't just do it from a script, I have to feel it. Props to the women who can just switch it on and do whoever, caring only about the money as Guiding says. I knoew some, in fact. But I'm not one of them.

VERY GOOD QUESTION, and I've always wondered the same thing myself.  I wouldn't doubt that in the case of Dominatrixes, each thinks he or she is in control.  I see it as NEITHER of them being in control.  It's simply an equal exchange agreed upon by both.
