. Mr Fillion is in a kilt.. therefore, its implied hes a dom.. will have to go re-watch him interacting with Inara..

Well, besides the fact that you're confusing Mr. Fillion the man with Mal the character....There is NO way Mal was the dom in that relationship. Inara was completely in charge, as she always was with men.

I am over 50% Scot, and there were members of my family that would only wear the tartan at family reunions, along with a few that learned the bagpipes.... I think some of them would be offended that the tartan and the kilt had become fashion statements, and others would just be amused.

Yeah, and I'm offended that Maddonna and Britney spears are apparenly practicing of the Kaballah. Life's rough. ;)

juliaoceania -> RE: kilts for Doms (2/20/2007 8:53:13 PM)

I did not say I was offended btw, I just find it rather amusing. Kinda like a white guy getting dreads. And like I said earlier, just because one calls a leather skirt a kilt does not make it one[;)]

DominaSmartass -> RE: kilts for Doms (2/20/2007 9:01:40 PM)

Ok, I should have said that my orthodox Jewish relatives might be offended.... I was just teasing you.

theMadWelder -> RE: kilts for Doms (2/21/2007 7:13:02 AM)

Some of us do compete in Scottish Highland games.

http://houstonhighlandgames.com/AthleticsAdult.htm

that is a 3 stone weight for distance

VeryPrivateMstr -> RE: kilts for Doms (2/22/2007 9:39:49 AM)

3 stones.... that is 21 pounds?

theMadWelder -> RE: kilts for Doms (2/22/2007 9:56:45 AM)

one stone weight = 14 lbs

3 stone is 42 lb weight for distance, for us old guys the young guys use the 56 lb weight.

There are usually seven events.

2 stones, one standing and one with approach.

2 weights for distance, a light weight(2 stone) and a heavy weight.

1 weight for height (the heavy weight)

the sheaf toss

and the infamous caber toss.

ps, forgot about the hammer toss, light hammer = 16 lb and heavy hammer = 20 lb.

VeryPrivateMstr -> RE: kilts for Doms (2/24/2007 11:09:20 PM)

Thank you for letting me know. It has been a while since I had heard the term. That link was interesting.

Elorin -> RE: kilts for Doms (3/4/2007 7:22:59 AM)

Ooooh do you come to the SA highland games? I watched a great deal of the sheaf throwing competition last year, it was lovely.

azzmaster -> RE: kilts for Doms (3/4/2007 9:00:17 AM)

i have never seen a dom wearing a kilt but i think it would be pretty funny to go to a dungeon n c a bunch of dues kilted up... unless i was in aberdeen. seriously, if a dom was a scot n knew his clan tartan i think it would b cool, but otherwise it would look off kilter

Badkitty0810 -> RE: kilts for Doms (3/4/2007 9:13:59 AM)

hehe "off kilter"... cute! *giggles*

theMadWelder -> RE: kilts for Doms (3/4/2007 9:22:43 AM)

Yes, those games are put on by my buds from the south.

here is a cute link, http://www.pages2send.com/kilt/index.shtml

ps, I changed the photo to the kilt photo since we are on kilts, may take a bit for approval.

Missokyst -> RE: kilts for Doms (3/4/2007 11:29:18 AM)

back to the OP's query
Is there a play party at hand?  Perhaps they have opted for kilts for ease of access?

DaddyDeSade -> RE: kilts for Doms (3/5/2007 1:32:43 AM)

I need a kilt. I have been thinking about that a fair bit. I have heard no kilt buzz in the local community but want to start some. 5 years in new zealand got me used to the occasional summer wear of lava lavas which would be the samoan equivalent of men's sarongs. but a kilt would be shorter and I would assume cooler.

theMadWelder -> RE: kilts for Doms (3/5/2007 11:34:06 AM)

There is a website something like econokilt?? some of the guys use them in the games, they are inexpensive and not near a full weight kilt.
