Is it all cause we are ashamed of our sexuality,or cause not many people really except the S/M lifestyle in society today.I can only talk to one other person about bdsm in my life openly.Cause this person is also into the scene aswell, and has kinks like me.But i so wish i could go up to someone a lady for example and ask them,if you are into s/m or the bdsm scene please.

But im unable to do this to chat to a lady openly in a public place,on a night out on the town.So im unable to converse with this particular lady about bdsm or any other lady for that matter about any aspect of bdsm.Cause either i will offend her,or drive her away for one reason or another. It's such a great shame that people in this world are incapable and ashamed of talking about bdsm lifestyle.Or about their sexuality,or any other sexuality for that matter. In any public place, which is a real pity i think. That many people find sex dirty,a really dirty word and as such.Find talking about sex a dirty really dirty with a no please don't go there mentality. When sex is a really a lovely experience and talking about sex, openly should be embraced not having the door slammed in your face, even before you have mentioned the word "sex"or "can i talk to you please about bdsm".But what do you think now please?

It is? I have had nothing but friends ask how they can find out more about, or start getting involved themselves.

I don't see it as much as a taboo, as I do a lifestyle. The people who I speak freely about it with, seem to be interested in knowing more.

When I first became interested in BDSM, I thought I was never going to meet someone into the same things as I was. Then I was lucky enough to meet my husband at a local munch.

It isn't BDSM that's taboo, it's sex.  Sex is a taboo topic, in almost every society I've experienced.  D/s relationships aren't taboo; just tell them you run your home like in the 1950s, with (dominant) as Ward and (submissive) as June, and it makes you happy.

Talking about anything that is extremly personal or intense with people who simply don't have an intense bone in their body will likley be wasting both of your time.  I don't discuss Dual Core CPUs with someone who's afraid of keyboards, either.

Unacceptable?  You find me one person here that doesn't find it acceptable.

Ummm. I think the person ment out side of CM. But after spending a weekend with a group of open minded people wanting to know more, wanting to spank me and tie me up who knew nothing of the sort, I have a hard time thinking this society is so close minded. They might not understand everything (like the chemistry that i get in subspace), but they all think it is fun and is part of their private fantacies.

It is actually like, when i tell them i am involved in that way, i give them permission to wonder if their fantasies can came true and to play with the thought more.
