Allotted Time For Learning....Privilege or Reward?

For me being newer in the lifestyle (3 years) and still a rookie on so many levels, I constantly thirst for knowledge, very inquisitive and curious.

Sir believes i am “quite fixated” with learning to the point of letting some obligations falter. Even though He is my main source for guidance, i enjoy so much reading forums with opinions, different insights, perspectives, advice and communication with other Doms and submissives.

In your opinion, is it a privilege or reward to read and learn via forums and other communications. How is your time allotted for learning?

willing2serve, In Masters and my relationship it is a priviledge for me to read the forums. If I get the work done that he expects, loose the 2lb a week limit he has set, then yes I can be on here if not then they are suspended till I accomplish what is expected of me. I too love to visit the forums, as they are a great learning tool for me and help me to see things in a different point of veiw, plus I love reading, and I love the veiw pts, and opinions of the posters here,

I've been in the lifestyle for more then two decades and I'm still learning daily it seems like. From what I gather here is that He is concerned about how much time you spend daily doing it? If that is the case and you are allowing other obligations to falter, then perhaps He should put you on budgeted schedule as far as the computer goes. Learning is great, but so is living your life. Stop and think about how long you spend online learning, either from here or from chatting to other submissives.... then ask yourself if He has a legitimate complaint? The best way is to put yourself in His shoes, are some of the things you are allowing to falter concerning Him?

Being allowed to participate in forums is definitely a privilege which should not be abused.

Learning is simply who we are and what we do. It's rare I learn any significant pellet in online forums, but I find them fun, funny, they allow me to keep my debating and philosophical skills sharp and I like the mix of personalities.

Online forums really don't change, the same topics are debated now as they were 5 years ago and as they will in 5 years. And the funny part is that they are debated in almost exactly the same way.

NEVER let online life interefere with real life, it's not worth it. The topics will be here tomorrow and the day after...that bright spot of your day won't. I know if the Owner thought I was not adhering to my responsibilities, it wouldn't even be a matter of asking the question- you simply just wouldn't see my name posting anymore.

Being able to read people's thoughts and interact on these boards is both a privilige and a reward. Sir has told me from the beginning this is the best way for me to learn as i can take my thoughts, His input, and what others say and develope my own out look.
i feel priviliged because people take the time to share their thoughts and i am rewarded by being able to learn so much more than i could otherwise.
As far as time management, i am quite busy so i read what i can when i can. i have to be strict with myself so that i walk away from the pc when i have other things to do. While this can be hard, i am learning when i get my obligations met before i 'treat' myself, i feel much better.

This is definately a priviledge.

There are times when I have been instructed to get information about something and report back what I have learned and tell him the source. Usually I have a time limit for that sort of task. Reading the forums and participating is a priviledge. I am allowed private email as well and I know that is a huge priviledge that I best not abuse.
