I remember going on a date once with a guy and when I got in the car the song "She Swallowed It" was on  and I blushed..but yeah, that turned out to be a good night

For me, songs/sounds in general and memories are pretty strongly linked together. If I'm doing something and notice a certain song on the radio, I'll remember that event every time the song plays.

Which leads to humor sometimes because I can't listen to Led Zeppelin without remembering an ex and I recently had sex while Mulan was on as background noise. I'll never be able to think of "I'll Make A Man Out of You" without remembering both of us singing along -as- we're doing our thing.

The entire Pink Floyd album, Wish You Were Here.
It was my therapy the summer after my mother died.
I think of those feelings anytime I hear any song from that album.
I love that album.

"It's the same thing," he said.

I have a friend I have known since kindergarten. Months might go by between times we contact each other.
I can spend hours talking about the lunacy he and I engaged in as we grew up, including living off the land for a month, explosives, fishing, drunken fishing, getting toilet papered after (drunkenly) eating steak and lobster on a boy scout backpacking trip.

Just wrong on so many levels, really.

But I think of him every time I hear the song Wish You Were Here.

Some of the most memorable songs of all time:

Queen - Bohemian Rhapsody (Freddy Mercury is arguably the greatest rock vocalist of all time, but this song was so intense they could not perform the entire song during a live performance)

Styx - Come Sail Away (their only hit)

Led Zeppelin - Stairway to Heaven (if I hear that song one more time I am going to scream)

Saw Queen in concert in 1977 or so.  Twice.

Bohemian Rhapsody was done in concert, but the opera portion was pre-recorded.  The reason for this is that every voice in the opera chorus is Freddie Mercury.  He and Brian may used to almost wear through the recording tape doing overdubs.

Yes, I know.  That is the portion I was referring to.  Freddy was the only one who had the ability to pull it off.  A huge loss to the music industry and fans the world over.
