I'm trying to figure out just what this toy is called...it's got about the same flexibility and length of a crop, but instead of a small folded piece of leather at the end, there is a small but firm piece of rope. Is it a crop, a whip...or is there another name for this mysterious but fun toy?

Perhaps a dressage whip. They come in various lengths.

A dressage whip is thinner and longer than a standard riding crop, but, it DOES have that "tassle" at the end rather than the folded piece of leather. Perhaps what you have is a dog whip?

Yes! I googled it lol...it's a dressage whip! Thank you both for your help, that would have driven me nuts trying to figure it out. <3
