Nice link, thanks. The article was a little vague, because in one spot it says that there are 22 cases of chimps using spears to hunt bushbabies, but just 4 paragraphs below it says that it has only happened once. It sounds like a variation of termite fishing, with some bright chimp figuring out that it will work for other things as well.

I would love to read the Current Biology article, because it would be nice to know if the chimp were male or female. Most chimpanzee innovations are started by the females.
