I recall they tried to prevent people from drinking in the 1920s by making it illegal. I recall it was a dismal failure. I also recall it was one of the means by which organized crime became organized in the first place; where there is a dollar to be made, people will make it. Remove the laws, tax the sales of drugs the way we do cigarettes, and watch the illicit drug trade all but vanish into a cloud of commerce. After all, if there aren't billions of dollars to be made selling it illegally, there won't be people who sell it illegally. Ahhhh but the moral majority would lose their funding, for the war on drugs ; ) Stephan
