OK--but does writing stupid opinions badly make them any better? At least, if someone writes bad ideas lucidly, I can understand them without having to make the effort of crawling through bad spelling and grammar.
Note to "azzmaster" from a 28-year-old who has grown up with text messaging:
On being "raw" in terms of content:
--in your profile, no problem, because it's yours, and you'll attract the kind of people who like that;
--in posts to these boards, I'd avoid it unless the topic is one where such language or imagery is actually appropriate; my guess is it will turn most females off;
--in PMs or emails, unless invited, it's very rude.
On the AOL-speak:
--in your profile, the same applies;
--in posts, as you can see, it irritates a lot of people, including me;
--in PMs and emails, if I get it, I never, ever write back, because I personally find it both lazy and pretentious, not to say *old*.
Haven't you noticed that slang and other fashion filters down the grade levels, and so by the time it gets to 8th grade, it's extremely over for the grownups?
You have every right to be crass and to use horrible deliberate misspellings. But this is the last you'll hear from me if that's where you're at.
