Today I was at Wal-Mart. It is a very classy place I must add . I saw a pair of those safety goggles that cost about $1.89. They're the type you have to wear in science class, or that mechanics wear. They're basicallly rubberish see through plastic with an adjustable elastic strap on the back. They make you look very attractive. It kind of looks like this:  but even cooler. I was looking at them and thinking that there must be some good use for it. So I purchased it. Later I figured out something: If this is a known idea, then I apologize!

This is the perfect accessory for blindfolding someone. Ok, so after you have your sub spread eagled or bound in whatever position you would like:

1. First take a silk scarf (or anything else that feels nice on the face).

2. Wrap it around the person's head a few times to cover the eyes and tie it in place.

3. Then place the safety goggles (with the elastic band set tight) over the person's blindfold.

Bonus idea: If you are a female you can put your used panties in there (it really brings it over the nose too), or you can think of other humiliating items to add inside the little "package" under the safety goggles along with the blindfold. There are probably many humiliating and gross items you can think of. Maybe iced cubes. Habanero peppers  (JUST KIDDING!!!) The key thing is to remember to put the scarf or blindfold item over the sub's face BEFORE you create the "safety goggle package". And I would like to reiterate that I was joking about the habanero peppers.

The reason this idea works great is because there is a very nice compression that pushes the scarf tight over the eyes, and it has a much more "even" feel.
One of the best things about this is you can "tap" on your submissive's blindfold.  It is kind of like the part in the movie "Back to the Future" but more erotic. Remember: "McFly, McFly *tap tap tap* anybody home?" It is also a little humiliating. The tap is very audible as the goggles are tight on the face, so you feel the vibrations. This tap can be a very good distraction before you quickly take off your sub's nipple clamps or give her a stroke. It makes a very nice sound. If you were originally able to see little bits of light in corners of your eyes with the scarf in place, you definitely won't once the safety goggles are put over it. Also, safety goggles make you safe! You never know when you are playing with your sub and a blinding sandstorm might come through your house

I wear those things for my chemistry class! Now when I put them on I'm going to be holding back laughter at the imagery this post provides. All I can think of is Beaker, from the muppets, with a blindfold on under his glasses, LOL!

Interesting that you can find the best tools in the oddest places.

That is a great idea by the way.

And just wanted to welcome you to the site. Hope you enjoy yourself (great profile too).

That is a wonderful idea!  I find that most blindfolds bother my contact lenses, so we just might have to try this out.  Thanks, denika!

They would also work for those who routinely take out eyes while flogging another person.
I've seen two alledged fem doms do that over the year's.

I have many pair, I use them while carving. Opening up the side hole vents a little is a good idea if you are going to stuff them something. Haha, yes, there are lots of fun things to be improvised for the creative mind. This post reminds me of when I purchased my first chainfall for my sculpture studio.

I have taken a pair of regular swimming goggles and spray painted them black inside and out.  That's a quick blindfold fix.

I was going to mention the swim goggles. They are great and are really cheap. I paint black only on the inside (brush, not spray) which looks great because the outside is then very shiny black plastic that goes well with a latex outfit. Of course as cheap as they are you can have different colors for different outfits.

I always buy the kind with black silicone or foam gaskets instead of the ones with clear or other type gaskets because painting that part doesn't work well and will let light in. Letting light in from the edges can be nice so the sub can make out shadows or flickers of light without really being able to see anything which might add to anticipation but I prefer total darkness and I've found nothing that can provide that as well as the painted swim goggles.

On the downside, or upside depending on how you look at it the goggle will trap moisture so tears will gather inside and even in the absence of tears sweat will gather over time making for annoying droplets inside which may force the sub to keep eyes tightly closed and which may be distracting from other things that are going on. I consider this a plus as after a strong flogging or other play my j will have tears gathered under the goggles and I like to then gently remove the goggles and wipe her eyes and dry the goggles and put them back on her, which is cool in several ways. The darkness is so complete that it's surprizing how jarring the removal can be in terms of light sensitivity to an already oversensitized victim :-)

When I purchased the safety goggles that was the first thing in my mind. Cover it with duct tape or something to make a blindfold. Then it occurred to me: As many youngsters say today "GHETTO!" But if you're crafty and can make it look nice I think it's a great idea. I just think that as the dom I would be the one humiliated showing the sub my "invention" and not vice versa. One thing I don't like about home-made toys is that sometimes it's just too tacky.

One word: Lowe's.

Given all the cheapo chain and hardware and stuff.. I really DO think Lowe's "knows". =)

Cheers,

Oh yes!

Dollar Stores are a trip for the creative pervert!

A+++

PS to the creative  - please use craft or mild paint if the object - inside goggles - are to be colored. Many spray paints and outdoor use paints are toxic and not meant to be used on or near mucus membranes (eyes).
But, clever folk can read  labels :) right?

Have fun!
