Whether you're a top or a bottom, a this or a that, you're human, and you tend to make mistakes, even in the "vanilla world". I see a lot of conversations on here where, eventually, one person points out the fallacies of another person, and that other person either dissapears from the conversation altogether or continues their feeble defense when they're clearly out-numbered (not to say that majority always rules, just pointing out that in some cases the majority tends to be on the ball).

So, is anyone here too prideful to respond with a "You're right, I'm wrong" sort of post (and not be snide?). Is it too much to have your ego re-checked and to admit to problems or situations instead of making a hard-headed defense? What about with your doms/subs when you're arguing/debating/etc about something and realize you were wrong?

I've never been wrong, so it's really not a big issue for me.

I have no problem with an apology if something is pointed out to me showing that I am in the wrong, that is how I learn....and have done so many times on this site...however if someone is just plain insulting and up in my face I generally tend to just ignore their snottiness and go on..I will never debate with someone whos head is up their azz.....Tempting..[:)]

Mikal -> RE: Can you admit to your mistakes? (2/25/2007 6:44:55 PM)

*snickers* I'm with you on the 'head up azz' bit... mind you, I have never seen that actual feat accomplished... [:D]

As for admiting when I'm wrong? Sure. But in my world of Meah, I'm Supreme Ruler Commander Empress of All... and I am never wrong. The voices in my head tell me so, and they don't lie.

Off topic (I seem to be doing this a lot lately)... szobras - nice pic. [;)] But why do you have a raccoon (?) tail coming out from under your jacket? Just curious.

LadyIce -> RE: Can you admit to your mistakes? (2/25/2007 6:48:36 PM)

I can admit to mistakes and do so all the time.  I also have no problem apologizing to my
submissive.  What I don't like are people that do things all the time and continue to say I am
sorry, and then turn around and do it again 10 minutes later.

Perhaps they suffer from retrograde amnesia? (sarcasm... people like that bother me as well. Especially when they are family [&:])

scottjk -> RE: Can you admit to your mistakes? (2/25/2007 7:00:11 PM)

Mmm, I don't have a problem with being wrong, it's the part afterwords when I realize I WAS wrong that I have a problem with. :)

I tend to get overfocused on the topic that I miss other things, just blow right by 'em, and say things that I definately wish I could take back. Usually by that time, I'm banging my head on a wall asking myself why I missed that, or took a shortcut, or just shot my mouth off trying to be funny.

After I recover from my self induced concussion, I'll do my damned best to apologize. It's definately not easy, because, usually, I've pissed off some one so much, recieving acceptance of that apology tends to get ugly.

Often, I feel like Bob Marley. I've got a feeling that I've got a planet sized ball of chain waiting for me in the afterlife.
Does mass count in the spirit world?

simplewhispers -> RE: Can you admit to your mistakes? (2/25/2007 7:12:44 PM)

seems like omg I am so sorry is the first thing I say and the last just before sleep ...... you mean thats not normal?

szobras -> RE: Can you admit to your mistakes? (2/25/2007 7:50:50 PM)

Mikal,
Thanks for the compliment on the pic, and the racoon identification. My accountant said I couldn't go out to get some tail and write it off on my taxes. Had to prove him wrong. Actually, that pic was taken at a Rennaisance faire demonstration. The tail is just a bit of a fun attention getter when I do a show.

Mikal -> RE: Can you admit to your mistakes? (2/25/2007 10:34:41 PM)

LOL! Well, accountants... what do they know anyway? [:D]

You know, there are other uses for fur besides Rennaisance faire attention snatching *weg*...

LaTigresse -> RE: Can you admit to your mistakes? (2/26/2007 7:37:04 AM)

I don't see making a mistake (unless it is done repetitively) or learning something new as a negative so I have no problem admitting I do it.

I always stand up and take responsibility....It might be hard to do in the minute...But if one is capable of any sort of introspection or empathy it isn't that big of deal...I enjoy to be around people who have the capability to be self deprecating and are capable of a good debate but still have the ability to listen and process.

Oh, now that is hysterical!
