Yesterday, I had a long talk with the doctor that cared for Ron while he was in the hospital and he told me that he couldn't believe how strong that man fought against the odds. He "did" have MRSA which led to the septic shock that took his life. He said he never saw anyone fight as hard as he did but the infection spread so quickly through his body. If it weren't for Ron's death, I would have never taken those boils I had on my body seriously..I would have just kept putting warm compresses on them - nobody really wants to go to the hospital. I went as soon as they began to get large and the doctor told me if I hadn't gotten on antibiotics it could have went deeper into my blood stream and begin attacking my organs. Losing Ron has been the single most devastating event in my life but his death has opened the door to many changes in my life. I am currently on a strict diet to manage my diabetes and am taking my health serious for the first time in my life. I will always have a special place in my heart for Ron, he was my soul mate, this I know- but I have faith that there is someone special out there for me and I'm gonna wait...just hope he comes before I'm all gray- haired because gray hair don't look cute in pigtails[sm=biggrin.gif]Sorry to rant on this morning but I needed to get this off my chest....morning to you all[:)]

Depending on the clergyman you chose to seek out.  Some would say Ron's death was a sign of things to come.  That way it would save your life when the time was right as it just did.

However, there is also the saying...all things happen for a reason.  Maybe you've just found your reason?
In any event whatever it is you are taking your life more seriously so somewhere within there was a benefit for you.  Even if you didn't see it until now.

I have a bit of an unusual philosophy about life, adopted mainly from Carolyn Myss. We choose our lives before we arrive, down to choosing our parents, and have made sacred contracts with people to fulfill while we are here. The beauty of it? Sometimes people die for us. The difficulty of it? Sometimes people die for us.

I had a friend with whom I connected on a VERY deep level, VERY fast. When I stepped into his energy, I had a flood of memories of past lives. We'd been together off and on for as least a millennium. When he died about a month later, it was like I lost a part of me that I'd just found. Through a crappy set of circumstances, he ended up taking his own life. Did he consciously die for me? No. Do I feel that he'd made that contract with me before we came around this time? Yes. The consequences behind that are heady. I am both horrified and deeply honored by the implications. I have learned so much from it.

I took care of a Ron, and he was my stepfather. He smoked over two packs of cigarettes a day. He got emphysema had COPD, he then had a stroke that left him blind and wheelchair bound.

I cared for him for two years. About 6 months into caring for him I quit smoking because he was a living example of what my future could be. I was having trouble breathing and shortness of breath. Because of his example I take my health seriously. I know what you are saying Krissi

I believe in the same...but my beliefs were affirmed after reading Many Lives, Many Masters (or is it the other way around?)   It's getting very late and mind is fuzzy.
