Preaching to the choir

Also, Amen!

KatyLied -> RE: I am pissed this day!! (2/28/2007 10:45:03 AM)

Speaking of the war, did anyone catch the Bob Woodruff special last night?  I recommend it.  It was a compelling glimpse into war injury and the after-effects.  If you are a fan of the VA, you may want to skip it.

What say me? We supposedly needed the ludicrous defense budget to combat the big, bad, red Ruskies. The USSR fell years ago, but the defense budget did not.

New boogeymen will always be created to justify the military-industrial complex.

Repeat after me until it finally sinks in:

Yes, another member of the choir here. Like one of my straight friends says,
"Somebody give that man a blow job so we can get him out of office!"

Bounty, your thread is bound to be a hit. Just hope nobody starts throwing flames and gets it shut down.

This is only scratching the surface, you need to follow the money back in time. Things are the way they are because they were made that way in the past. We can't walk out of the middle east very easily, too much has happened. A sad fact, but a sad true fact.

What it is, you are seeing a glimpse of the big picture. I am not a Christian at all, but have read Revelations. I've not read 1984 but I almost do not need to. The seven signs are indeed happening, and ignorance really seems to be bliss these days. Some of us are not so blissful though.

Many prophesies portend a catastophic end to humankind, possibly life on the planet, it is not clear. But people do not see, yes they have visual accuity, but the interpretation is lacking. The signs are there, but they are much more insidious than most people think. I do not believe that we are a scant few yers away from annihilation from a meteor, nuclear holocaust or even earthquakes.

The real problem is much more insidious than that.

We, as a race, are not only losing our survival skills, but in some cases our survival instinct. We will know when the world is about to be blown up by the megalomaniacs, we can see a meteor coming with a telescope. We might even predict one day, a huge shift in the San Andeas fault, or even it's complete seperation from the continent. We can see some of that coming.

But what we cannot see is our own decline. Our increasing inability to live on our own without the benefit of society. And while it is a shame that most people can't shoot down a deer and butcher it themselves, while important, is only the tip of the iceberg. We are losing some good qualities, like justice. We no longer execute killers and rapists, instead we house them for life. But then we also imprison people for a certain substance, and alot of other things.

Workers are forced to donate a good portion of their pay to a society that does not feed it's poor, nor properly take care of it's elderly, nor properly school most of the young. Then we wonder why people haven't developed just fine, why they will be a burden instead of an asset to society.

And the people who run the whole show care not about the very workers that produce their wealth. And the workers are kept ignorant by media, games, shiny things, new cars.

And the status quo proceeds. And they take more, then more, then more.

One day they will have it all.

Think about that for a second. If they have ALL the money, it is useless to the rest of us. Thus their reign is over. You see if NONE of the rest of us have any money whatsoever, we will have to figure out a way to barter. But the rich produce nothing. They have nothing to barter. I might give them a good meal and some water for a Rolls Royce, but I would've given them more for a Chevy.

The people who run the world are nihilistic, and they specifically want to take us all down. More than once "80% reduction in world population" has been said, not by me. I believe it was Prince Phillip. I forgot who the other was, but it'll come to me. It was somebody rich.

Funny thing is, we agree. We just don't agreee on exactly which 80% needs to go. I think the first people to go should be the useless cocksuckers who are sucking us dry.

Even without something so drastic, there should be a solution somehow. I don't claim to have the answers, but most people don't even have the questions. That is not good.

Enough. Be back later.

I have the questions.

But let's just do one at a time to retain focus. How about if we start at the top of the list, see how this thread progresses, and go from there?

"Why have we the people, allowed a private and for profit banking cartel to issue and control our money for the past 93+ years... thereby creating an unlevel playing field which punishes us?"

popeye1250 -> RE: I am pissed this day!! (2/28/2007 10:17:44 PM)

I'd say that I agree with you!
We simply cannot afford to continue all this Imperialism.
I totally agree that we need to get our Troops out of S. Korea!
I mean isn't 54 years enough?
The politicians keep trying to tell us that we have "interests" there. I don't have any "interests" in S. Korea, does anyone here?

Since N Korea has gone Nuclear, the closer our bases the better. N Korea can talk all it wants but when they look outside, they see troops and guns ready to kick ass. It's why N Korea keeps barking but has decided not to bite.

Besides, with so many volunteers signing up in the military, don't they need to be sent somewheres? Government runs like a business. When you train someone, pay them, house them, pay for there school, and give them bennifits, you're going to find or make up work for them to do. Otherwise, what was the point of hireing them in the first place?

Mysti -> RE: I am pissed this day!! (2/28/2007 11:28:44 PM)

The same can be said for why the US still operates bases in Japan. China and N. Korea are making leaps and bounds in nuclear development. That alone is an "interest" for me to see the need for troops there. As for Bush.. I choose not to get too involved with political discussions. I cant name any President that's been a total saint. Theyre human, they all came from money, and all have purchased educations. BOTH sides, Dems and Repubs. On the Dem side look at the Kennedys, on the Repub side.. the Bush's. Nobody is wholly to blame. It would be detrimental to pull out of the Middle East now, reguardless of personal opinion on weather it's right or wrong to be there. Could it have been handled better? Sure. But we're all armchair quarterbacks calling plays arent we?

BrainSlugs83 -> RE: I am pissed this day!! (2/28/2007 11:53:15 PM)

I have friends from S. Korea -- if S. Korea had been ruled by the same gov't as N. Korea I wouldn't have those friends -- because cits of N. Korea arn't allowed to leave the country or travel (they also live in poverty, and starve -- S Korea sends food, but the NK govt takes it and gives it to the army.) -- N. Korea want's to spread it's reign, and they're not the only ones -- I don't want to see that. -- Guess what? NK will attack as soon as we pull out, then we'll be right back there again. -- It's easier to hold the dam up than to build a new one after the old has collapsed.

Evil triumphs when good people do nothing. -- The US might be pretty f*d up right now; but we still have more freedom than most other countries -- You can believe whatever you want, and no one's going to kill you for it at least (not legally, and if they do, unless they have a lot of money and do some very bad, illegal, things, they will be punished for their crimes), there is poverty here but there's also wealth (as opposed to living under a govt that takes everyone's money away unfairly and everyone is poor).  There's nothing stopping me from becomming a billionaire here except for my competition, and lack of a good idea.

If the US doesn't do it, who will? Europe sure as f*k wont... -- if we have the ability to keep the rest of the world from going to hell in a hand basket why shouldn't we?  as a country, that's where our country lives -- the world! -- It's in my best interests.

"Military considers recruiting foreigners"

"Expedited citizenship would be an incentive"

"With severe manpower strains because of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan -- and a mandate to expand the overall size of the military -- the Pentagon is under pressure to consider a variety of proposals involving foreign recruits, according to a military affairs analyst."

America is not and never has been in Europe to defend Europe, Europe is the USA's forward defence. Ask the Czechs now who are campaigning against their government allowing a US radar base on their soil. As one Czech said on the radio this morning, when the Russians where here we didn't want them but couldn't say it, now the Americans are here we don't want them but now we can say we don't want them.

The point is, why should we be a target because of other people's imperial plans? The answer for Europeans is the same as the answer for Americans wanting out of Iraq and its extensive military bases around the world.....

Another amen.

Didn't we elect a new Senate and Congress to do something about this?

popeye1250 -> RE: I am pissed this day!! (3/1/2007 11:24:12 AM)

IS this why we are trying to recuite people from other country to serve? YEAH right we need to be sitting on our carries off shore and let all theses folks that have become so rich defend them selfs..There is no two ways about it FANG ,IN this case you can't have your cake and eat it too.WE need to think about our self first.The days of nation building should be well behind us now!!!WE need to rebuild what BUSH and his cronies have destroyed here at home...bounty

BOUNTYHUNTER -> RE: I am pissed this day!! (3/1/2007 11:37:25 AM)

YES sent to the border with weapons and ammo.LAST month a guard detail had to cut and run from a gang because they were unarmed..bounty

Termyn8or -> RE: I am pissed this day!! (3/1/2007 9:46:32 PM)

I heard about that BOUNTY, and the two agent that got stiff sentences for shooting a Mexican.

These things are so outrageous I didn't even want to bring them up.

Yes, they shot him in the back, but if a city cop does that to me he has 2 weeks adminsitrative leave with pay until it leaves the newsrooms.

Believe me I don't even want to go there. Mail me if you have to, but people will not accept this, it is too much for most Americans. They think everything is fine, and we do not want to alienate them, even if that means witholding part of the truth. Their future depends on it, yet they have no idea.

What would happen if you took a criminal, an enbezzeler, murderer, theif and golden boy who never earned a dime in his life, gave him a bunch of money and shit. ?????

He would become a US President most likely, or if he wasn't quite as stupid, perhaps a senator.

Oh yeah, I am not touching that border issue with a ten foot pole.
