LMAO! Shunned. It's official.

At least I don't work for the IRS.

"If your brother sins against you, go and show him his fault, just between the two of you. If he listens to you, you have won your brother over. But if he will not listen, take one or two others along, so that 'every matter may be established by the testimony of two or three witnesses.' If he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the church; and if he refuses to listen even to the church, treat him as you would a pagan or a tax collector." ~ Matthew 18:15-17

Well... He produces pretty top quality Lesbian Porn. I'd have to show his people a few of your photos. Then his people would talk to our people. We'd work out a deal if there was a deal to be made.

Badda bing... badda boom. You're tomorrow's risin' star, girlie.

Pagan Dominant Woman here!

Pagan - from the Latin "pagani" meaning from the country, a rustic
Heathen - "from the heath", a country dweller or rustic

Wicca is translated variously from Old English and Old Germanic
roots to mean "wise" or "to bend", in other words, to shape reality.

Wicca is specific to European belief systems, many people
work with the Celtic mythos.  Among the various type of
Neo-Pagan groups, some have their basis in the Norse mythos
and are called Asartru, some are Greco/Roman/Classical,
some are   based on Eastern  European/Russian, etc.

More specifically, Bean Draoí, or female user of witchcraft as Gaeilge...  commonly known as the Irish Witch.

All true, although Wicca (as a religion) is relatively new - perhaps 60 years, 70 uif you want to be really generous.  Although the Celtic mythos is quite common amongst Wiccans these days (myself included) There is a much more heavy influence from Mediterainin practice in Wicca coming from the older occult orders.

There are PLENTY of other pagans besides Wiccans.  I suspect there are other heathens besides Asatru as well.

I may be wrong here, but doesn't Wicca predated Christianity?

Nearly everything that is or was mainstream pre-dates christianity.  Thats why alot of it is amalgams of other myth.

And isn't paganini a violinist? (or was) so does this mean I get to play that girl like a violin virtuoso?

Yeah, you would be wrong.  Wicca was cobbled together in the 40's by Gerald Gardner.  To be fair, it does have pre-Christian influence, but as a faith it did not exist until Gardner, though it is likely that similar traditional witchcraft practices and covens did exist, often family traditions.  Additionally, there certainly were older occult orders that can verifiably go back to the early 1700's and possibly older.

However, for many, antiquity equals legitimacy - this was true for Gardner as well - so he continued to propogate the falsehood of antiquity to gain legitimacy for his new faith.  This falsehood is STILL propogated within the Wiccan community, even though it is pretty easy to uncover what is what with even just a little bit of serious research.

Now, again, I am a Wiccan (and proud of it) and age does not equal legitimacy.

I usually call myself Wiccan.

I imagine Kenin will get a good laugh from it.

For those wanting to read more about the various Neo-Pagan
and Wiccan groups, I highly suggest the book,

"Drawing Down the Moon: Witches, Druids, Goddess-Worshippers, and Other Pagans in America Today"

by Margot Adler

http://www.amazon.com/Drawing-Down-Moon-Witches-Goddess-Worshippers/dp/014019536X

Thank you for providing additional information on Gardner, fergus.
I was getting too sleepy last night to explain more of the history
behind Wicca.
