Unless the are Poly, and seeking another partner, they should be making it clear in their profile, IMO, that they are "taken", or making that clear otherwise (on the phone, etc.) they are already collared. Unless they are cheating on their Dominants. Kidding around and flirting is one thing, (between friends or acquaintances) and it could be innocent, I see people joke around all the time, online, and have done it myself. But if I do, it's usually clear it is kidding, etc. - (but I still don't think they should take it very far, if collared, IMO) but leading someone to believe they are serious is quite another. Make sure you are not mis-interpreting them, (and check their profile! to make sure they are single before you give even a piece of your heart away) but otherwise, it's certainly not your fault, IMO, and yes, it stinks. It isn't fair, etc. However, this is also an educational site, not just a site for singles. I do note a recurring and somewhat less than flattering pattern in their tone. Firstly, everyone who signs up for an account has the right to participate here. If you want something more specific... set up your own site with whatever parameters you need to feel comfortable and unthreatened.
