brightspot -> "Profile Pending"..... (3/25/2005 6:45:45 PM)

Can someone please tell me how long it takes to have a profile cleared?
I have been waiting like 4 days, and am getting off the wall mail because no one knows my infomation.

I tried to contact a moderator on the personals side but it dosen't go through.
Any imput would be much appreciated[;)].

Atavist -> RE: "Profile Pending"..... (3/25/2005 7:40:16 PM)

It varies widely depending on how busy the moderators are. While your waiting you may want to make a journal entry describing what your looking for. If I'm not mistaken, those are posted immediately.

stef -> RE: "Profile Pending"..... (3/25/2005 8:21:46 PM)

Journal approvals usually get processed after profile updates.

Like I said, journals are usually approved after profiles (g).

brightspot -> RE: "Profile Pending"..... (3/26/2005 12:43:53 AM)

Okay...Thanks.

It's Springtime maybe more people are joining, so it's busy.
I was just wondering, didn't want to think maybe it was "lost"
somewhere in the Shuffle[;)].

What I finally figured out (I'm a little slow sometimes like that) is that every time you upload an image, they not only have to approve the image, but also the profile. The image will generally get approved right away, but the profile can take days even if you didn't make any changes beyond the images.

Also, the only way I could delete images was to upload a different image in its place that wouldn't be approved. Clicking the little check box that says delete image doesn't appear to work.

Anyway...no more tweaking for me or it will never get approved...lol.

A user's profile has absolutely nothing to do with the review process for photos. Profiles, journal entries and photos are all independently reviewed.

stormsfate -> RE: "Profile Pending"..... (3/27/2005 10:23:56 AM)

When I upload a picture, I then hit update profile. Do I not need to do that for the picture to become available? Geez...I've only been online since 1984...you would think this wouldn't be so hard for me...lol.

best regards,
f

Y'know what I wish in terms of "profile pending"? I wish that people would just wait for the profile to go through before writing you.

I get -so- much mail when my profile is pending. I don't get it. Wait four or five days and find out who I am, or mail me now and irritate me because you didn't even -try- to look at my profile.

~sigh~

It took Me forever to figure out how to do that, but I finally did. I can not even remember how I did it now but it was a serious pain.

I've seen a bunch of profiles in the **Pending** state since Saturday. Something broken?

Your name comes up on the 'new members' list on the left that is an option to view. It's very convenient for those who are looking for 'fresh meat' to try to beat everyone else to contacting you.

An option is to just delete the mail without reading it. Of course then we'd get to read yet another post by yet another inflamed male dom pissed off because the females he's contacting are 'rude.' <shrug> I'd rather let THEM get upset than me.

Photos gets through the approval process quicker because they take less time to review (some of you people write manifestos for profiles). Tiny fonts, poor color selections that don't allow for enough contrast and lots of text take a long time to review. Then there are the folks who don't realize they are not dealing with a bot so they just keep resubmitting the thing hoping it will slide by in spite of it not being within TOS.

I do believe the call for reviewers is still listed. One could always volunteer to help out with the load, it does seem to come in waves, though.

At the moment there are 30 pictures to approve, 2070 new profiles, 1122 new journal entries, 1156 old profiles, and about 7100 old journals to look at. I think (and I could be wrong) there are about 25 reviewers (who volunteer their time).

Do the math.

Imagine spending 10 straight hours reading profiles and journals. That shit would burn anybody out.

Patience.

texguy98 -> RE: "Profile Pending"..... (3/30/2005 9:10:01 PM)

Wow! That's alot of profiles. Does collarme.com take volunteers to help out? If so, what is involved and how does one apply? This is a great site and I'd love to contribute to it's continued success if there's any way I can help out.

kc692 -> RE: "Profile Pending"..... (3/31/2005 8:44:51 AM)

I am totally new to the site and the forum.....I made the mistake of changing font colors and background. I can understand, though, below in another post are awesome numbers of items to be reviewed. I may not have 10 hours straight, smiles, as suggested, but would be very willing to help out whenever possible, and on a regular basis. How does one answer the call for reviewers?

After I posted the previous message regarding the request for reviewers I noticed that the post isn't up there anymore. I haven't done a search to see if it's still up or not.

Email one of the mods on the ad side. I understand most of them are quite busy at the moment so it may take a while for them to get back to you.

kc692 -> RE: "Profile Pending"..... (3/31/2005 9:01:39 AM)

I found a moderators profile, and there was a link to email the reviewers. I did, and offered my services. I don't know how much I can help make a dent in that awesome amount of material to be reviewed, but I volunteered.

Well, like I suggested on the later post, I thought the call for reviewers was still up, but I don't see it anymore. Perhaps an email to one of the mods on the ad side. They're busy so don't be surprised if it takes a while for them to get back to you.
