It's an attempt to establish a "fact" based on your belief, and to short-circuit discussion and the examination of facts by simply discounting any information that runs counter to your belief.

Use of "Asians" also points to your tendency to classify all people in groups i.e. prejudice. Which "Asians" and why? Just more generalizations.
If you researched half as much as you lipped off: Perhaps you might do a little more research into the scientific method and into the questions still concerning global warming before you "lipped off". Pot.

Lots of damage is possible. "Giving it a shot" isn't a real detailed exposition of what it is that you want/expect from "Americans". Be specific and we can discuss if it is "worth it". Not a real good selling technique, for ad bombarded Americans, I'm afraid.
